Not much really, save for the ease of entry and exit which was by electronic fob. The room was at least clean, though having a sofa instead of a desk and chair was a bit weird, given that they knew I was staying on business so it doesn't take a genius to know that for preference I'd need a desk and chair to work from and given the fact that nobody relaxes in a room except in luxurious accommodation; which this certainly wasn't.
This converted 18th-century farmhouse is on Hayling Island, 12 miles from Portsmouth city centre. Newton House has free Wi-Fi and free parking, just half a mile from the nearby beach.

The hotel is made up of three grand Victorian / Edwardian buildings in a sort of campus format in the same street. The room was really spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was excellent. The free parking was well organised and not too difficult.

Used the property as a base to get to Hayling Island Yacht Club. Although it was a 12 minute drive away we left at rush hour we were never stuck in traffic so a really good choice even if you need to be in the south of the island. Greggs and Leon coffee at the garage across the road also good to know.

Comfy bed and sofa bed (always welcome after a long drive) Perfect location for the workshop we’d booked into 😊

It is a lovely one bed annexe adjoined to owners house.
It is a lovely one bed annexe adjoined to owners house. Well furnished and thoughtfully equipped. Feels homely and was suitable for our family of 4 as the bedroom is at one end and the lounge with sofa bed at the other with bathroom and kitchen in the middle. Quiet location but driveable to the main beaches and tourist attractions. Was nice to visit off peak. Definitely recommend it.
