Very warm welcome upon arrival. My room was lovely and clean and I had a very good sleep. The breakfast was very nice, and it was great to see that veggie sausages were offered.
The Embankment Hotel is in a beautiful location beside the Ouse River. Only a short walk from the center of town, this riverside setting overlooks quiet gardens and a Victorian bridge.

Room was more than adequate for a one night stay although I'd got a little fed up with the emails before arrival trying to get me to upgrade. Room was in the new block, nicely decorated and had a view over towards the river. Bed was very comfortable and shower was excellent with good quality toiletries. No shelf in bathroom for own toiletries but glasses were glass not plastic. Tea & coffee making facilities offered a couple of additional flavoured teas. Fridge in room which would be useful for a longer stay. We arrived early so were able to find a parking space and the parking system in the hotel to register the car was easy to use. All of the staff were polite and professional.

Large twin room with all modern facilities. Breakfast was good with a range of options. location is very central and in a good area of Bedford. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. The hotel decor on the inside and in the rooms is of a good modern standard, unlike the outside appearance, this is one hotel that could do with some cladding.
Location
The location of the property is obviously not something that can be changed but questionably suitable for an Air BnB given the noise of the trains and road. We were away for work and unfortunately got absolutely no sleep due to the noise.
Bedrooms
NEEDS curtains, especially when that close to the the railway. Road lights come straight through the blinds. Mattresses are unfortunately extremely uncomfortable and the doubles are 2 single mattresses of different heights. Very uncomfortable.
Garden
There is no way you would be able to sit outside and relax given the noise. Garden is also very unkempt.
Kitchen
Oven ignition does not work. Therefore you must strike a match to light.
Dishwasher does not work; A notice to say do not use.
Bathroom
If you want a bath, you'll need atleast an hour as the hot tap just drips.
The interior of the house is lovely and I can not fault the cleanliness just not suitable for our stay unfortunately. The price was very reasonable but even so, our purpose of stay was a good night sleep and unfortunately we did not get that.
