The Staff were fantastic, really very helpful, polite, and just very nice to deal with in all respects. The public areas of the hotel were generally very clean. Plenty of parking available.

the George Inn has been beautifully refurbished, with a real quality feel and attention to detail. The bar area and restaurant has a lively atmosphere. The staff are polite and always happy to help. The food was well cooked and presented. I can honestly say it is the nicest place we have stayed in Yorkshire

Loved the cabin. We had the one with 2 bedrooms. Well decorated and furnished. Great showers. A lovely lounge with fabulous views. The hot tub is good. Coffee and tea facilities good but not suitable for self catering. But why would you want to cook with an excellent restauraunt with great choices and very good service. Breakfast is also excellent.
We stayed 2 nights though I would stay longer. Although it is out in country within half an hour you can be sat on a York Park and Ride bus.

Helen was very kind and really happy to help. She gave me the keys and showed me around. It's a self-contained separate building with privacy and comfort. The bed was great, kitchen immaculate and the bathroom was clean and well stocked with anything you would need. the little touch of 2 Lindors in a box on the kitchen and a couple of bits of food if I needed was very kind.

We had a lovely stay at Hazelwood Farm. Annette looked after us very well offering us tea and cakes on our arrival and a hearty breakfast in the mornings. The room was lovely and clean, the bed really comfy. Hope to return in the future.

The staff were fabulous, reception, restaurant, bar and cleaners 5*
The room was like a travelodge but the price wasn’t!
Radiator stuck on full the first night. I suffer with heat so couldn’t sleep, ruined our shopping trip to york the next day as I was over tired.
We had to leave before breakfast but unlike other accommodations we were told they couldn’t provide a take out continental style breakfast although we paid for breakfast.
The breakfast after first day was good, hot but no choice for rolls or cold meat etc. Just bread.
We had a meal in resistant first night. Soup was great but my main was inedible. The pie crust was rock hard on top and uncooked soggy on the underneath. It was impossible to eat. Chips wee actually wedges and a bit undercooked and onion rings had very hard chewy middles - like they used outer part of hard skins.
Pudding was good.
My other massive fail for here was I saw it was next to birds of prey centre. On google maps it said open every day until 5.30. We set off missing lunch and tried to get there early enough to see it. The patronising man in birds of prey told us it was closed. It wasn’t the fact it was closed it was the condenscending ‘luv’ he used after every sentence!
Not a fan of burn hall, will not be staying here again, no atmosphere and like a very expensive travelodge! I’m not sure if I will use booking. Com again either. Feel they were very economical with the truth about the place.

Not the best stay in a hotel chain.
Not the best stay in a hotel chain. Walls and floors are paper thin. Had to lie awake most of the night listening to someone above us coughing and walking about. Plus anyone who came down the corridor sounded like they were coming in our room. Bed was really uncomfortable in room 215. Needs a new mattress as could feel all the springs plus it was sagging. Then in the morning after hardly no sleep, had to queue to wait for a table for breakfast! Couldn't wait to go home. Sorry but probably won't book here again.

But in general the area is lovely with stunning countryside - local pubs very friendly and sweet village centres to wander around

Lovely hotel in the countryside.
Lovely hotel in the countryside. We thought we would cross country to get there and ended at a toll bridge. After paying 40p we went across and it was terrifying and very scary! I told my husband I was never going over it again even if we had to go miles around on our return journey 😀. I did look for a troll but think they found it too scary to stand under. Approach via the A19 and avoid the bridge!

We used the stay as a base for a trip to York, My only bad observation was the road at the entrance badly requires repairing due to the amount of pot holes. As for York the local park and ride was excellent value and service York itself was a very interesting city and very popular with tourist, plenty to see and do shopping was great. loved the street entertainment and the markets.
The hotel is well located for the centre of York, being a 10 minute drive to a park and ride and 20 into the city itself. My room was a good size with a large, comfortable bed. It was nice that there was plenty of tea, coffee and milk. The grounds were lovely, and it was a quiet location. Breakfast was alright, but would have been nice to have more options for eggs, the only available was scrambled.
We had 23 rooms for one night as we attended Ebor Festival at the racecourse. The hotel was such good value for money compared to York City Centre and had everything we needed. We will definitely book again next year!
The staff were particularly helpful.
Convenient for york park and ride
Super friendly staff
Clean tidy hotel
Would be good for people with low mobility hotel had lifts to get to floors and had rails in the bathroom of the room we was in
it was absolutely amazing hotel from booking in to us leaving the staff made us feel so welcome. would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in York or surrounding area
