Me and my daughter traveled to Holmfirth to meet my daughters friend. We had a beautiful weekend and really enjoyed staying with Deborah at her lovely, full of character cottage. She was very welcoming and even allowed my daughters friend to stay with her for few hours in her accommodation as there was not only the room but also a lovely lounge we could use. She even prepared some drinks for them while they were together ;)
The room we stayed in was a good size and very cute, had all we needed for our short stay. Its situated off the main road in a quiet hamlet with beautiful views and feels very peaceful. It takes about 45 minutes walking to get to Holmfirth but its a lovely walk, mostly through countryside. My daughter and her friend took Uber the last day to meet me in the village as it rained and it only cost them about 6 pounds.

Second time visiting and it's just such an idealic location! Love it! Definitely helped having a (working) car, however not necessary with the amount of walks in the area!
To go out and eat we HIGHLY recommend Lou & Joe's Burgers and Harvey's! Fantastic range of gluten free options in all local restaurants, everyone is so friendly and accommodating

A great example of a northern mill town but not the main reason for visiting this picturesque Yorkshire town.
Famed for the BBC show "Last of the Summer Wine", it's a mecca for anyone who's funny bone has been tickled by this warm comedy from the 70's through to the early part of the 2000's.
Modern hostelries abound, some great exhibitions, cafes and pubs used extensively in the TV series all combined with the beauty of the Yorkshire landscape featured throughout the escapades of the characters of the show.
We'll be back in the summer to further explore the scenic beauty and further enjoy the views these three old men brought to life on our TV screens.

Holmfirth is a great place to visit.
Holmfirth is a great place to visit. Home of “Last of the summer wine” of course but also a great venue to visit is The Picturedrome for a Northern Soul music gig which was fantastic. Some lovely bars and eateries plus some quirky shops as well. Defo a place to visit for the weekend.
The owner Andrea was very friendly and helpful with a good sense of humor. She left a personalised booklet giving advice on local places that were good and those that were not so. The cottage was really nice and clean and full of character with quirky-shaped rooms and corridors. We came down to see bands that were playing at the Picturedome, which was an easy 2-minute walk, as were a number of restaurants for after. We will no doubt be coming back once more bands we like come play Holmfirth.
Lovely place, very relaxing, ideal for visit to Holmfirth and surrounding area; only 5 minutes by taxi to centre of Holmfirth. Traditional stone/contemporary decor. Restaurant and bar serving good selection of food and drinks. Lively atmosphere Saturday night. Warm welcome from the staff who strive to do everything to help during your stay. We had a comfortable room with tea/coffee making facilities/hairdryer/fan etc. We stayed for one night and enjoyed our stay.
Very clean and comfortable room, although the bathroom was rather compact. Great location in picturesque town centre with very nice atmosphere, whilst the staff were also very friendly . Restaurant had a varied menu and food was good. Equally there was a broad breakfast menu (included in price) from continental to full English, with a variety of options between the two.
Very clean and cosy with a quirky feel. Has a beautiful view. The location was perfect, only a 15 minute walk into Holmfirth town. Thank you to Kate for being an amazing host. And thank you for your recommendations, you made us feel so welcome on arrival.
We loved the location to holmfirth, and the parking. The cottage was beautiful inside, with a lovely view of the river to the rear. The kitchen was very well catered for with excellent utensils. Clearly a much loved property. The beds were comfortable.
Fabulously located in the heart of Holmfirth and very close to shops, pubs and cafes. Really well resourced with everything thing you could possibly think of for a comfortable self catering stay. I’d definitely return and highly recommend.
The staff were excellent, a really good Yorkshire welcome, nothing too much trouble. For breakfast there was a wide choice from traditional to continental. Again excellent welcome and service from staff. Looking forward to our next visit
Great communications. Kept informed. Received a welcome text from owner before arrival. Loved the buzz of Holmfirth. The property was right bang in the middle of town. Perfect location. And coffee shops so cheap compared to home.
Spotlessly clean with added extras to make our stay comfortable, great location for Holmfirth town. Parking the bottom of the hill and walking to property wasn’t a problem at all…..great stay and fantastic communication with host
Nice contemporary interior decoration in the rooms, excellent breakfast with good breakfast menu choices, very helpful and friendly staff, great food in the restaurant, good location for Holmfirth and the surrounding area.
The stay was ideal for a brief trip to Holmfirth. It was a two mile walk in which we enjoyed. We didn’t meet the owner but the instructions to park and access the property were very detailed so not an issue.
The perfect place to stay whilst visiting Holmfirth. Very clean and comfortable, with all the facilities you could ever want. Absolutely beautiful, we will definitely be back. Andrea was the perfect host.
My first choice for staying in Holmfirth was sold out , but luckily I have now found this hotel and will always stay there for future visits. It is far easier to park here than in Holmfirth itself.
lovely friendly homely hotel, love the homely casual feel of the restaurant and bar, the staff are lovey and welcoming. great home cooked food in the bar or restaurant and its Dog friendly.
The staff were really welcoming and friendly. The room was large and clean. It was the perfect location for our night out at The Picturedrome. Lovely food before going out too
