My single room and en-suite bathroom were stylishly decorated and well lit. The room itself was at the back of the building with no view but the hotel is across the road from the beach so well located. All was clean and comfortable with usual facilities.

If you research Hastings then you get what you have looked at. The Front from St Leonard's and Hastings is vibrant and has none of the faded glory that some sea side places have. We always look with positive eyes on any place.

I was not visiting Hastings as a tourist; but the seafront seemed a bit run down and in need of some TLC. The old town was better and I had a couple of pints and some good food in a pub which brewed its own beer.

Hastings is a rundown town, it’s glory days are long gone.
Hastings is a rundown town, it’s glory days are long gone. The local council seem to have run out of money and there’s no maintenance being done. The pavements around Warrior Square are covered in weeds. The flowerbed are likewise weed covered. It just down at heal and not a nice environment. Many houses appear to being held up with scaffolding. The roads are dreadful, full of potholes. There’s roadworks along the front which are light controlled and the traffic can be backed up for hundreds of yards. I never saw a worker actually attending the roadworks. It’s a sad place to visit.

Hastings was an elegant seaside resort 100 years ago.
Hastings was an elegant seaside resort 100 years ago. Since then it has fallen on hard times but hopefully it is on the way up now. The elegant Georgian and early Victorian architecture still looks good however even if a little faded.

Hastings is a wonderful town with so much historic relevance through the centuries it makes your head swirl. If you might be interested in such contexts you should take some time...
If you're interested in the nature of the coast and the cliffs/hills you will also find everything here.
Needless to say the beers and ciders are brilliant.
And don't forget to visit Bexhill nearby - such a relaxed (and relaxing) little town.

History of Hastings is significant - worth the read.
History of Hastings is significant - worth the read. Town is lively and lovely, as well as quirky! Music scene is alive and people are friendly. Climb the hills for breathtaking views and get a sense of place near the Channel. Easy to arrive by the Southeastern Rail. Bus service around the area is superb.
The breakfast was sumptuous and set us up for the day, especially after an early swim on the last day. The location was just right for us, a beautiful view and near the beach with loads of free parking nearby. And near enough to Hastings and Bexhill to walk or bus. Lots to see and do there.
The Hotel is a large house tastefully updated for comfortable rooms. With more work to be done it'll be even nicer next time.
Shops nearby catered for basic needs. Buses run every 20 mins to Hastings, Eastbourne and Bexhill.
A nice Hotel on Hastings Sea Front. Get a room at the front with a balcony overlooking the sea, there is always something going on there. Remember that this is quite an old building, so it can be a little bit wobbly inside, but to us that ads to the character.
good hearing, but everything else is terrible. poor decor, poor bathroom, hasn’t been updated in the last 30 40 years by the look of it. convenient location, but is always the hotel I would pick last in Hastings.
Great location on the beachfront about 20 mins from Hastings old town. There is a lovely beach bar right in front of the hotel and we enjoyed our stay.
