Aldwark Manor Estate, hotel in Great Ouseburn

In stunning parkland, close to York, Aldwark Manor Estate is a Victorian manor house that mixes traditional style with modern bedrooms featuring free WiFi.

The hotel is simply beautiful. My room (401) ticked all my boxes. Spotless, beautifully furnished , great range of toiletries and refreshments. Staff were super helpful. Reception staff both on arrival & departure were so warm and welcoming. Evening staff in Elemis were so attentive. The Irish gentleman (with the hair band) offered fantastic hospitality and recommendations. He delivered way over the extra mile. Finally’Debbie’ at breakfast. She put a smile on my face as she was so down to earth (even if the flat white she made my business partner was below par). Thank you for making a business trip feel more like a pleasure break.

My room was on the ground floor, accessed not through the reception but along a path to the end of the building. Very well appointed and pleasant. Large bathroom.

The Blue Bell at Arkendale, hotel in Great Ouseburn

Located in the picturesque village of Arkendale, North Yorkshire, The Blue Bell at Arkendale offers a restaurant, free WiFi access, free parking and a bar.

Nice big room, big bed and bathroom, though the shower cubicle was very small and the tap system was too big for such a small space. I would say those fancy 'Victorian' taps do not actually work as well as they should. Dinner was very nice. Plenty of free parking.

This place is beautiful and anyone who hasn’t been I would highly recommend. From the friendly welcome text message to the extra touches in the room since we had just got married. The extra little things goes a long way and made our stay with our dogs exceptional and we will be rebooking. We even said if we hadn’t got married we would have looked at booking this for our wedding. Definitely booking again

The hotel and the environment was beautiful.

The hotel and the environment was beautiful. The chef made his own bread and butter which was lovely. We went to Knaresborough which is a beautiful place to visit and to go walking. You could spend a day on the river boating, and there were plenty of eating places. We had tea and cake at the Lavender tea rooms, which was lovely. Friendly staff as well. We spent a day in York which is always beautiful. I would recommend Delrios Italian restaurant in York.
