loved the Inn atmosphere, the downstairs rooms, food and very nice staff. Twin room rather small and bath with shower over. I should have asked for walk in shower at time of booking. Beds hard and would have liked soft pillows. Despite that I would definitely book again but not same room.

Really lovely place, no complaints at all. The staff were really great and incredibly welcoming.
But the real big hitter was the breakfast... absolutely top notch.

It was the perfect base for getting to other lakes and places of interest. The lake and the village in itself was wonderful and you have not lived till you have queued for the gingerbread, or had gellato.

I have visited and stayed in the Lake District hundreds of times over the years and still the scenery is the redreaming feature and by far the bonus.
Sadly on this occasion, I thought the villages, especially the smaller (Coniston, Hawkeshead etc) were looking tired and unwelcoming.
I will be back, but will not be staying in the centres from now on.
On the upside however, there is some fantastic restaurants and eateries around the area.

The village and surrounding area was a joy, it gave us a very pleasant tranquil feeling from the moment we arrived. The views of the crags were awesome as they were from their summit,s. The food was amazing at Baldrys café/ tea room as was the service and staff, went there four days on the trot after our first visit.
Already looking forward to returning later this year.

Grasmere is quaint and beautifully proportioned as a village, retaining its charm with privately owned unique shops. My stay at Victorian House was perfect. Beautiful decor. The staff are very helpful and friendly. It was my first stay and my room was upgraded. I will definitely stay again.
What can you say about Bridge House Hotel…well other than it’s amazing ❤️ from start to finish the stay was perfect. The staff are amazing, the place is like a home from home and The Lake District is a beautiful place to stop, take time out, enjoy and recharge your batteries. Me and my partner were in great need of this break and the hotel did not disappoint. Many thanks to the staff who treated us like friends and look forward to our return. We would highly recommend the place and look forward to booking again.
Lovely historic, cosy country inn. The hotel is located close to Grasmere, about a mile away, on the main road between Ambleside and Keswick. We had a meal in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Our room was comfortable with a good sized bathroom and rainfall shower. The walls are quite thin so this is something to be aware of but we still had a good night's sleep. Definitely would stay again.
The bacon was excellent and the availability of juices, cereals and fruit etc was very good. The hotel was nicely positioned in the village of Grasmere, which was a beautiful place. Staff were very helpful and the free drinks, instead of room cleaning each day, was inspired.
We had a great time at Rothay Garden Hotel. It’s just on the outskirts of Grasmere, so you can escape all the hustle and bustle during busy times. The hotel and its grounds are lovely. The staff are all very nice. The food is fabulous! Would definitely go back :)
The spot was flawless and optimum access to the town and so many walks around.
Quiet night sleep which was a bonus.
Great parking place and amazing amenities surrounded the hotel itself which was great and made it worth the price.
We love Grasmere and hotel is in perfect location. This is the first visit to the Swan and won t be the last. Breakfast and evening meal where excellent, bedroom lovely and comfortable and staff very friendly.
Location. Walkable to Grasmere, and right on the lake. Great walks close by and provided by hotel. Dove cottage across road.
All staff helpful and friendly.
Spa and bar.
Garden terrace.
Great breakfast
It was a convenient location near the bus stops and the shops in the village. It was a short walk to start 2 hikes from the hotel. I enjoyed having my dinner in the gardens, listening to the river!
The hotel is in a great location surrounded by fields and mountains but only a short walk into Grassmere. The staff were helpful and friendly, the hotel was very clean and tidy.
The staff were really lovely and friendly. The location was absolutely lovely. It’s an easy walk into Grasmere and there’s loads of walks you can do for the hotel.
The hotel and grounds were lovely in an ideal location in the heart of Grasmere. Breakfast was nice. The rooms inside the hotel look modern and comfortable.
The Raise View is perfectly located just outside of Grasmere. It is an easy walk into the village and has the most glorious views of the surrounding fells.
