Extremely lovely and quirky old building, as states stairs are very steep and twisty but added to the charecter for me. I can see why it would be hard for less mobile. Bar area and library room both lovely. Breakfast was nice. Wasnt as nice as some places i have stayed and fruit would have been a lovely option there were only prunes. Nice fresh yoghurt. 1 rasher of bacon,1 large sausage, egg to your liking, half a mushroom, half a tomato and a hash brown. Room was clean. Separate area with kettle and tea or coffee sachets provided. Bottle of still water. No biscuits. Bathroom clean. And toiletries provided. Lovely little radio provided nice touch. Very quiet no noise from other guests or pub area. Just the pigeons. Good central location in a lovely town. Not far to the gardens and river walk. I would definitely stay again but probably ask for a room with a bigger window.
