Ramada Encore Newcastle-Gateshead, hotel in Forest Hall

Just 300 metres from the Gateshead Millennium Bridge and the Baltic Art Centre, this modern hotel has a stylish on-site restaurant, bar, gym, and free Wi-Fi throughout.

The location was great - close enough to the city centre to walk but far enough away to avoid the noise etc. although it can't be helped by yourselves but the view of a building sight was not great. I didn't use the bar area but what I saw of it it was a bright, friendly relaxed area.

Arrived on time for booking in, Had to wait till bar staff serves lots customers before we were provided a key to room. Shown to room door and rep left without opening the door, we entered and found the room had not been cleaned from previous occupants. Beds unmade with sheets and undelay pulled off to the floor. Previous occupant wet towels all over the room floor. No toilet paper, toilet full of previous occupants disports. Bins full rubbish. Flooring dirty and of need a good clean. Fawlty Towers would be rated 5 star compared to this place.
