It’s a characterful building in a beautiful quiet setting. The landscaped gardens were lovely.
All the staff were friendly and approachable. My room was very comfortable and pleasant. Parking was ample. I enjoyed my stay and would stay there again.

Elsecar is set just on the outskirt of Wentworth which has a larger garden centre, beautiful walks, a post office and plenty of lovely little country pubs, gift shops and other lovely little shops. I would highly recommend a visit to the Market and Wentworth is a five minute drive away with plenty of car parking spaces.

Poor welcome on arrival, not made to feel welcome welcome.
Poor welcome on arrival, not made to feel welcome welcome. Person said "do you know where you are going" no friendly welcome.
Room in back of pub outside in beer garden. Bottle bin next to wall where we were sleeping, woken once when bottles emptied into.
Very noisy outside until late, people shouting, screaming and swearing. Right outside your door.
Alarm in room went off twice waking us again.
Rang number for help, no answer just a text back saying "who is this".
Rang and finally got through said would get back to us. Nobody got back all night.
Very cold room with a small heater.
Very small TV on wall.
Page in information pack only seems interested in your checking out.
Would not recommend or return.

Fantastic heritage village that is not advertised enough outside the local area. Well worth a full day out. We ate in both cafes in the village and were impressed with the food, cleanliness and choice. Plenty of interest for all the family especially the steam train.
