Excellent location for finishing the Pennineway Southbound, and the staff were incredibly! So much so I booked another night and
in again in December . The staff here bend over backwards to make sure you have a great stay, from accepting a parcel for my wife to bring me epsom salts for my swollen feet.
Absolutely amazing staff .
Great food and beer also .

It was just myself and my dog for this one night stay and I honestly can't begin to express how clean and lovely this hotel is! Absolutely spotless, lovely staff and I honestly couldn't have asked for better.

Edale is a beautiful small village situated almost at the foot of the most amazing mountain roads and walks.
A pub at either end of the village with good food, good beer and a friendly atmosphere.
We absolutely loved it.

This was a February trip so the weather was often wet but there are plenty of other things to do besides walking. One minor disadvantage is the lack of a bus service in the village (we were using public transport), but trains are generally reliable from the local station and other places accessible from Hope or Hathersage. Visitor Centre was closed during February half-term - a shame as it could have been useful. Great atmosphere in this village, by day and by night. Wonderful walking

Poor Wi-Fi connection.
Poor Wi-Fi connection. When I stayed in different accommodation previously I experienced the same issue. A lovely cafe next to the train station. If it wasn’t for the length of stay I would have explored other places to eat outside Edale. Be aware that poor signal may affect your ability to park in some car parks in the area. I would advise bringing plenty of change with you.

The surrounding views are incredible and make any length of stay in Edale feel too short.
Both pubs in the village are cozy and sell great food and beer, staff are friendly and service is great.
The general shop in the village is lovely and have everything a walker or camper needs.
Amazing walks in the peaks to be had from both ends of the village.

Edale is picturesque and perfectly located for hiking Kinder Scout and Mams Tor from the doorstep. I didn’t need to drive all weekend.
No shop in village and no phone signal for miles. A couple of campsites in the village and parking £5.00 a day

So much to do around Edale, particularly if you are into walking. A map is essential, but try one of the path up to the plateau of Kinder Scout. There are many easier paths in the area too. Try a walk across Hollings Cross to the village of Castleton, where there are several small shops and cafes for a rainy day. Peverel Castle is worth a visit too, but the highlight of Derbyshire has to be Chatsworth House and its grounds. About a 30 minutes drive from Edale, it is well worth a visit, as there is enough to keep a family going for a whole day.
Location was amazing with 360 degree of green expanse. Self sufficient minimalistic utilities are readily available to use, ie cooking, heating, cleaning. There’s no reception at most part of Edale (even so in Sheep’s Bit) so it made disconnection inevitable. Animals were mostly friendly, waking up to the sounds of goats, birds, ducks and chickens brought back happy memories. There are just two tents on the site, so it’s quiet and peaceful most of the time. Host Jodie was also extremely kind.
Fantastic location with 2 excellent nearby pubs and many walking routes starting right from Edale. Lovely place to stay for a long weekend, with a spacious living room and dining area. They had forgotten to put up a cot for our little one but brought it within minutes after we called them.
Lovely accommodation in a stunning and quiet location. Very well equipped for staying in or just a short walk (<15 minutes) to two pubs in Edale. Kinder Scout and Mam Tor are in the doorstep for walkers and Castleton is a couple of miles away for Caverns.
A perfect location for hiking and relaxing. This cottage combines the cultural aspect of Peak District with modern facilities. I absolutely adored my walks to the shop through the fields. You can feel truly connected with nature.
The location was awesome. Great if you want to hike in the area but want to be away from some of the crowded areas of the Peak District. Loved that I could walk out of the door and be on a trail in a couple of minutes.
We have visited Edale several times during different times of the year and this year we decided to stay over. There are some great walks featuring stunning landscapes and the village itself feels friendly and cosy.
Fantastic loft! Velux windows in the sloping ceiling! Two full bathrooms. The location is perfect for starting the Pennine Way and the pubs afterwards. Local shop for self catering too. Really good.
Staff were welcoming, room was nice and beds comfortable with great views of Kinder Scout; good hot shower, able to park there during the day. Good food, Very reasonable rate.
Nice pub
Great Location in Edale, part of a working farm but we had our own parking. No issues with the house, well equipped, Owner lives near by and popped over to chat. Very nice.
A lovely place to stay near to Edale and all that the valley has to offer. Kitchen was very well equipped and the property was a nice relaxing place to spend time at.
