Only a 1-mile walk from the station. Perfect location for visiting the cathedral and the town centre but despite this it was quiet, no traffic disturbance, no noisy passers by.
The restaurant was good. Bedroom and bathroom clean and comfortable. Friendly staff.

Lovely comfortable and clean room. Really friendly and helpful owner and staff. Only stayed for one night, wish we had stayed longer.
Booked a table for dinner and this was excellent.

The quality of the breakfast and its locally sourced products were excellent. Freshly prepared on order, and served relatively quickly.

The local view of The Bull is "only go there if you want a fight or drugs" - i'd say that is pretty accurate. As for our room, the plumbing barely worked, the noise from ventilation ducts was intolerable and the TV didnt work, not that it would have been audible above the noise. Dreadful place and I dont have particularly high standards.

We loved the close proximity of the pubs.
We loved the close proximity of the pubs. We had an excellent meal at The Goat and a lovely drink in the garden of the pub opposite. There was a convenience store at the garage close by and a Coop in the town.
The town was very close to the New Forest.
