The breakfast was very poor. No ground coffee just sachets of Nescafé. Overcrowded restaurant very full of people on bus tours . All self service . Tables were dirty . Hard to find a place to sit . Wasn’t happy to pay 12 £ for this so asked for a refund for nights 2 and 3 . Cafe Nero is open in Buxton at 7.30 a M and they serve coffee and a croissant. Reception was very poor . Like a doctors surgery , no sign of any one , behind locked doors most of the time. No knowledge of local area eg asked for George St which was right in front of the hotel but not known by receptionist . No attempt to make up the room which overlooked a tip. On the first night workmen were on site making a lot of noise . I chose this hotel because of its proximity to the station. I was first offered 3 rooms without breakfast for £ 343 . I cancelled this when a week before my stay Booking. Com advertised the same package at £271 . I gather thus room was on the internet for £58 of the Wednesday of my stay.

The location was perfect for our planned walking to Mam Tor,our room had excellent views of it too. All the staff were excellent and service with a smile.
