Dinner, asked for a drink before ordering and that we would like a glass of wine. Answer red or white? Seriously. We then managed to get a wine list which was finally discovered and we chose accordingly. Food was geared up for ‘big’ appetites (fast food). Apart from two curries which we had. My Thai curry was served COLD! It went back to the kitchen to be heated up (ugh). The rice was the largest portion I have ever seen!
Bed was like sleeping on an ironing board and we had the privilege of two satchets of coffee - one decaf and the other not! I’m not making this up.
At breakfast we were asked if we had a big appetite as the full english was large, or choose something else but didn’t have menu. We opted for an egg on toast, keeping it simple.
On both occasions at dinner and breakfast we were treated with head banging music while we ate.
It was a relief to escape.
This is not a hotel. It is a motel and I presume the three star allocation must be for the trouser press in the bedroom!
