Chapter Cottage, Cheddleton Nr Alton Towers, Peak District, Foxfield Barns, hotel in Cheddleton

Chapter Cottage, Cheddleton Nr Alton Towers, Peak District, Foxfield Barns, a property with a garden, is set in Cheddleton, 25 km from Buxton Opera House, 34 km from Capesthorne Hall, as well as 44 km...

Location was idyllic, right opposite the lovely old church and was so peaceful. We were able to park in the street outside the property. Excellent pub a few yards away (Black Lion) serving lovely food and with a really friendly atmosphere. Property was furnished beautifully with a lovely comfy sofa and the bed was super comfy too. As would be expected in a property of this age the stairs were steep but we soon got used to them! Nice little touches such as tea, coffee and sugar, a pint of milk and croissants on our arrival was lovely. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. We loved our short stay and didn't want to leave!

A peaceful village with limited facilities.

A peaceful village with limited facilities. Follow the towpath to the old Flint mill and its fascinating place in history and visit the Red Lion for meals. Generally accessed from the railway but a great shame the expected railway museum no longer exists, Plenty of footpaths but few maps - I used an O.S. map for general orientation.
