I have booked with both Booking.com and Cotttages.com on numerous occasions but I have never arrived at a property without a teabag or a grain of coffee or a pint of milk. Thankfully we brought our own. I loved the cottage but I won't be booking it again.

A pretty village with 3 pubs and a brewery, recommend the walk around the village alone the steam. Minterne House a 10 minute drive is worth a visit and the church. The coast is not far away and a bracing walk up Golden cap is a must.

Cerne Abbas is a hidden gem - absolutely amazing countryside and lovely village. The walking is immense - previously we had just done the obvious jaunt up to Cerne's Giant, but this time we found many walks to other places all starting from Cerne. The scenery is untouched and exquisite. We ate at the Royal Oak that was amazing and we heard from other people that food at the New Inn was also superb.

Cerne Abbas is steeped in history. Lovely abbey and ruins also three pubs to choose from. Walking through the village to the duck pond is a walk back in time. Not forgetting the Cerne giant with his very large profile!!!
