Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.
The town is centred on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road goes east to neighbouring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.
Booking.com also offers hotels near the BIC – Bournemouth International Centre in the West Cliff area. This convention centre and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre, located next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon that offers far-reaching views.
At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Opposite is a Grade I-listed church, and St Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of ‘Frankenstein’.
On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Centre, is Bournemouth Airport.

We liked the way we could go everywhere we wanted to on the Beach Breezer bus which we could catch at the end of our road or at Boscombe Pier.
There were places to eat within walking distance of the property. We also sampled ice creams available at numerous places along the promenade. Also, important for older holiday makers, lots of toilets available!!

Bournemouth remains a lovely place to visit for the beach,...
Bournemouth remains a lovely place to visit for the beach, attractions, shopping and long walks. Sadly some of the highlight features from previous visits have gone, the funicular, the balloon in the gardens. But, the gardens themselves are great for a walk. The aviary with its colourful birds was nice to see. There are still some lovely shops. But, like many other places there are a few closed down and graffiti marked buildings that affect the look of the place. Such a shame. But, we and the group we booked for all had a great time and would visit again.

A very pleasant British sea side town although not without the usual signs of economic decline in the high street. Lots of restaurants and eateries in the town centre and what appeared to be a very good bus and rail service. Open top buses available at frequent intervals to places like Swanage and around the Isle of Purbeck. Frequent train service to Wool with bus service to Lulworth Cove and the Jurassic Coast from the station. All well worth visiting.

Bournemouth is my favourite place in England to take some rest from London duties. I love absolutely everything in there; sandy beaches, landscapes, hospitality, people, pines, cliffs... the only one problem is to find a parking place during the weekends and summer holidays, but if you look around a bit, it's doable, not really at the beaches but within a mile. Actually, it's good to have a walk, so for me personally it's not an obstacle to come to Bournemouth at any time. I visit some favourite places in that area also in the winter and I always step into the water, no matter what. I would definitely recommend Bournemouth as a lovely place to relax.

Everything at The Pavilion Arms was a lovely experience. The staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was tasty and the menu had a lot of great options. The room was stylishly decorated, clean and comfortable with complimentary coffee + milk and drinks which was great. The walk down to the main part of town/beach was around 25 minutes and easy to navigate which made for a great location of the pub. I'd highly recommend The Pavilion Arms when staying in Bournemouth.
It was our second time visiting Bournemouth and staying at The Pavillion Arms. We've stayed in the suite room as a family of 5 (2 adults, 2 kids and a dog) and it's by far the best hotel for a large family to stay in the area. The room was very comfortable, with very friendly staff and a great restaurant. Also, great location within a walking distance of the town centre and beach, but in a quieter and much nicer location. We will come back again soon!
The location was amazing, a short distance from anywhere. Easy to travel to wonderful places, and Bournemouth is beautiful. Swanage too a stunning private beach with shop and cafe and fish and chips, amusements too. And two minutes walk from the town trains and busses.
All you need to enjoy is at your fingertips in Bournemouth. The staff in the hotel are all lovely and friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel. They even allow little dogs.
Hotel is very nicely situated across the street from a great beach with much activity, and close to the city and many shops, restaurants and pubs. Just a short taxi from the train station. The full breakfast includes a variety of menu choices that are nicely prepared, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Our room was very spacious with sitting area, and comfortable.
My first experience with Capital One Hotel was quite good from first minute being welcomed by receptionist Jamal, very professional and friendly service. The location is great, because it has a stunning view being close to the beach, Lower Bournemouth Gardens and the best view points. Central Shops are close to the hotel
We could not fault our stay, excellent value for the money, The staff were friendly and made our stay a very happy experience, the hotel is just outside of the shopping centre and beach area, but a walkable distance just down the hill or if you didn't fancy walking, the bus stop is just around the corner from the hotel.
The Hotel is sited in one of the best locations for Bournemouth. It's just a short walk to the beach (and away from the crowded parts); as well as this it's not too far to walk to the town centre. The En-suite room was good, and the staff friendly. As well as this it's good value for money!
The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the hotel was just what we were looking for. It is in an excellent location near to the beach and perfect for a short walk to the BIC for a show. Dinner and breakfast were spot on. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Bournemouth.
The hotel is decorated to a high standard with a lovely garden, restaurant and common area. The staff are friendly and professional. The breakfast was a good price and enjoyable. The hotel is in a good location for both the beach and the centre of Bournemouth.
The location was excellent to amenities and the beach.
The actual hotel (although in places it looked a bit worn out) was very clean and dealt with all of the issues we required apart from maybe the double bed could have been a bit bigger.
Well done.
The hotel is being renovated giving it a fresh look, staff were friendly and the rooms are spacious and had a fresh clean look to them. And the definitely value for money would recommend to anyone visiting Bournemouth
Comfortable room with Tea and coffee making facilities, a sink and powerful shower.
Great location of hotel opposite the BIC and only 5 minutes walk from Bournemouth town centre and Bournemouth beach. Perfect.
The hotel location was great for the beach or to walk into Bournemouth centre.
The bedroom was spacious and light and in manor with the style of the building.
Tea and coffee facility in room was good.
Really spacious room and comfy bed. Staff were helpful. Location was good but a car was needed to get into Bournemouth. It seems that all the hotels are situated outside the town centre.
It's very close to beach and town centre with a variety of shops nearby.. it's's very quiet and a safe location from where you can comfortably discover Bournemouth.
