Everything about this place was immaculately presented, the grounds were absolutely stunning especially during autumn time. We loved the level of thought that had gone into this place and will be back again!

Pantybeiliau House Bed & Breakfast, hotel in Blaina

Pantybeiliau House Bed & Breakfast in Gilwern provides accommodations with a garden and a terrace.

Our stay in the Sugar Loaf suite was delightful from start to finish. The approach to this imposing stately home is stunning, as are the gardens and surrounding mountains. Our 3-room suite (bedroom, sitting room, enormous bath) was beautifully decorated, with obvious thought given to guests’ every comfort. If you love antiques, 4-poster beds, floral chintz and a large claw foot soaking tub, this is for you! Views from windows on 3 sides, even from the tub. A balcony from which to enjoy the perfectly manicured gardens. Wonderful breakfasts! (Dinners by special arrangement and highly recommended.). Best of all: the hosts, Harry and Nicola. They will attend to your every wish, and they have wonderful stories to tell of championship equestrian competition and of Nicola’s father, an internationally famous cricketer.

Peaceful setting in a beautiful area. We did not go out as the cabin was amazing. The bed was comfy and there was plenty to do with board games a tv and books. Local shops around for you to top up on any essentials and lots of walks and places to see.

The town itself was remote and not much that we found as a 30 something couple to do. However the cabin we stayed in meant we didn't really have to leave. We went to another local town where that was a few more things for us personally. Blaina and surrounding areas would suit people who like to be exploring on walks up hills and mountains.

The local people were so welcoming and helpful.

The local people were so welcoming and helpful. Blaina is a great spot to start exploring South Wales. It's only 45 minutes from the Brecon Beacons for walkers. There are so many historic places to visit like The Big Pit Mine, which is free to tour, you can go down the mine too and its not far from Baina.
