South Beach Kings Promenade Hotel, hotel in Blackpool

Located on Blackpool’s vibrant promenade, South Beach Kings Promenade Hotel is just 7 minutes’ walk from the famous Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Staff were excellent, helpful and polite. The woman (I'm useless with names) that works on reception during the day is lovely, polite and friendly and will help you with any problems you have likewise the man that normally works a night is friendly and is there if there's a problem (thankfully we have never had any issues). Hotel room (212) is beautiful, clean, spacious and has some amazing views of the beach. The double bed is always comfortable and so is the single. Bathroom (with a shower) is spotless clean. All in all another fantastic stay and will be back in August as long as my partner doesnt lock the keys in car again. 😄

FAQs about hotels in Blackpool

Beside the Seaside, Beside the Sea

A favoured holiday spot since the Victorian era, Blackpool is a traditional English seaside town. Amusement arcades and crazy golf courses line the promenade and dotted between them are plenty of places to pick up fresh fish ‘n’ chips and Blackpool rock.

On the 5-mile sandy beach, children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides. Old-fashioned entertainment at its best. At the other end of the scale is the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a fairground complex comprising a variety of rides, including The Big One - once the world’s tallest and steepest rollercoaster. They actually had to get permission from nearby Blackpool Airport to erect it!

More seaside pursuits are on the town’s 3 piers, one of which is Grade II listed. However, the most recognisable landmark is the Blackpool Tower which houses a circus, 4D cinema and a world-renowned ballroom, to name a few. Modelled on the Eiffel Tower, it is spectacularly lit during the annual Blackpool Illuminations, when the whole town is bathed in bright lights. The trams plying the prom are also lit. Look out for the one shaped like a ship.

A popular stag and hen do destination, Blackpool offers accommodation ranging from North Shore hotels to South Shore B&Bs - see Booking.com for the best choice.

Like most seaside towns it is suffering a bit from the drop in tourism for travel abroad, however it is clear that money is being invested and improvements made. Stanley Park is beautiful and well worth a visit. If you pre book the Pleasure beach there are good savings on offer. The Velvet Coaster Wetherspoons is one of the best I've visited. The shows at Viva Blackpool are good value and a great fun evening out. It's like most places, if you plan ahead you can have a great time, don't believe all the bad press!!

Blackpool is a great place. Lots to do. Plenty of walks. The Tower is a great place to visit. Had fun in the arcades. Sealife Centre and the Circus are great places to visits. We ate in Coral Island Family Bar and Restaurant and The Wild West Restaurant was lovely. Had traditional fish and chips as well. There are lots of lovely cafes along the front and the town centre. Plenty of transport to go up and down the front.

Natinally, some people do not rate Blackpool as a first...

Natinally, some people do not rate Blackpool as a first choice, on my Table iin Coventry. no one wated to go there. Since i had never been, i decided to go, the price was good, hotel was fine, and transport by train, was cheap as well. I just want to see the sea, beach, sunset, and the Sky, which you cannot see in a City because it is all brick, you have to look up, In Blackpool, you can look in front of you. It has three piers, seaworld, the tower, pleasure beach, Madam Tussouds, the walk with famous names, very impressive. The circus, and theatre. You can go the Cleverles, St Annes, and Lytham, also Preston. and see other beaches, it is all work all this, so you had better be up for it. A lot to do, if you want it. People were helpful, and friendly. You meet people from all over the Country, so that is nice, instead of dealing with the same old, same old stuff. Some people do mention it is rundown a bit, and needs more work on front where the hotels are, and the Town Center, it seemed fine, for me, coffee shops, bookshops, all that you need, so i thought, it was good, because it was different. 20 million, people come here every year, so it does the job, and would come back for sure in the future, i wanted the Beach, i got it.

First time up north. I loved my experience. Didn't pay to visit any attractions as time constraints didn't allow. But loved the seafront , tower and fun rides. And thought the tram was a great just being able to jump.on and off at will. Loved the piers. Had an ice cream on seafront it was amazing.

Conveniently located hotel, in a quiet neighbourhood. It takes a nice 40 min walk on the seafront to get to the Blackpool Tower. Modern and very clean room of a decent size. A bit hard, but comfy matress, and comfy pillows. A nice selection of tea and coffee in the room. Spotless bathroom. Excellent breakfast in a form of an open buffet, with a great selection of options to choose from. Friendly and helpful staff. The Polish-speaking receptionist checking us in was just lovely :)

I was in Blackpool for the marathon, so my main aim was a good night's sleep before the race, and Lee & Chris's Belvedere was great. Lee gave a very friendly welcome, the room was very comfortable (the bed was perfect) and the shower was good. It was very quiet at night and I slept extremely well despite pre-race nerves! The location is great, less than 10 minutes walk from Blackpool North Station and close to the seafront. I'll stay here again when I next come to Blackpool.

The hotel is perfectly located - right on the promenade near the north shore tram stop, a short walk from Blackpool North train station. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the bar & breakfast looked good although we didn't use those facilities. The room was clean & a decent size, and had a smart TV which enabled Netflix login and other apps which we thought was a nice touch. The shower was powerful, and the black out curtains really worked well.
