The hosts. Two lovely women who obviously cared about standards. The bed was comfortable. I had a bathroom with a bath and shower. A bath is essential for me when booking an hotel. Breakfast was good..

The size of our room was excellent. The price of the room - very competitive. Many thanks to the member of staff on the cleaning team - who came outside as we were leaving with the bed rail I had left - huge thanks.

It’s a very characterful 17th century old pub hotel right in middle of very attractive Cotswold town . Lively atmosphere in the pub with good restaurant . Hotel rooms spacious and clean . Staff enthusiastic on service if a little unpolished !

Very clean, everything i would expect and a bonus was the size of the room, it felt very spacious and they even provided a fan because it was hot that night.

The George Inn & Millingbrook Lodge Ltd, hotel in Berkeley

Just 10 minutes’ drive from the unspoilt beauty of the Forest of Dean, The Millingbrook Lodge offers individually styled rooms, free Wi-Fi and free parking.

Food at the George Inn was excellent. We enjoy 'pub' accomodation but the beauty of this place was the fact the rooms were located in a seperate building.

We chose Berkeley because it was just a short drive from Slimbridge, so it was very convenient. Getting to Gloucester is also easy and this is well worth a visit for the Cathedral, shops and plenty of cafes and restaurants. Around the docks is very interesting and there is the Outlet Centre there. As it was winter and the Castle was not open we did not visit Berkeley Castle but in the summer this would also be on the list of attractions.

I didn't have time to explore Berkeley unfortunately but I found the castle and gardens well maintained and of great interest to me. Although I did eat in the Castle tent I didn't enjoy the food entirely I felt the environment which was hot and smelly wasn't exactly conducive to having a nice meal. The quality was only average and it would have been better if they had stuck to providing good quality sandwiches prepared on site which I understand doesn't happen presently. .

I stayed in this flat with my elderly parents for three nights and we loved every minute of our stay. Our hosts were very helpful and left us milk, tea, coffee, biscuits and juice on our arrival and the flat itself was beautiful: full of light, newly renovated, super clean and beautifully appointed. The location, right in the middle of Berkeley steps aways from its shops, cafes, takeaway places and pubs, couldn't be better.
