Cairn Bay Lodge, hotel in Bangor

Cairn Bay Lodge is in extensive gardens overlooking Ballyholme Beach. The villa is ideal for visits to Belfast and Ards Peninsula Each en suite bedroom is furnished with antique and modern furnishing...

A lovely hotel in a charming location with great views of Ballyholme Bay. (And a short walk to the beach if you fancy a dip). An easy walk to the town centre, but sometimes a little difficult to get a taxi if you have a heavy bag (as I did). Staff were very friendly and the food was superb (I only had breakfast) - try the home made granola and stewed fruit - delicious!! My bed was an an old style "hospital ward bed, but super, super comfortable!! Super clean and with a "country mansion" style decor and nice antique furniture. A wee bit pricey (for me, a "careful" Scot) but well worth it. You won't regret booking here.

Ennislare House Guest Accommodation, hotel in Bangor

Situated in an elevated position overlooking the marina, this well reputed and respected guest house occupies a superb setting in the seaside resort of Bangor, County Down.

Fantastic host who greeted us on arrival. Although no breakfast provided all the facilities and food to make our own each morning. Ann was great with providing location knowledge on what to see and where to go. Rooms were very comfortable and pleasant location with no outside noise. Will defiantly be back and rebook with Ann directly in the future.

The town is very cosy, compact and full of sights. You feel absolutely home, greeted by every passer by (and a doggy). Very clean, sea and rich greenery everywhere, perfect transport around, even a marvelous English (ESOL) school "Moving on center"! We enjoyed every minute there, though initially didn't plan staying there at all.

Beautiful little town right on the water.

Beautiful little town right on the water. Very walkable with great restaurants and coffee shops. Not much in the way of shops but we were ok with that. People were very friendly and looked like they love their town. Very close to Belfast so if you’re there for the city it was a great place to stay and rela without being in the hustle of the city. I would definitely go back and next time stay longer!

We have alot of kids mainly older teens and young adults who looked after our 2 very young children at home so me and my husband could have a night away to ourselves I would have loved to have stayed another few nights but we all have work and so do the older children ..... The reason we would have loved another few nights was so we could go exploring there are so many places to go walking around the edge of the water also the trains are very regular so you could have went into Belfast or somewhere half hour away then came back to Bangor to escape the noise of the city there are so many wonderful restaurants to choose from to eat at also ..... We went to a mexican place around the corner from where we stayed for lunch portion sizes were huge and it tasted amazing for dinner we went to a place called Oregano I think .... It's up near the train station and it has thee best spaghetti carbonara I've ever had in my life

Bangor is a traditional seaside town with all the amenities you would expect. The people were all very welcoming to us (English visitors). We hope to visit again in better weather. We had a bit of sunshine during our (March) trip but also rain and cold wind. There are also some other pretty little villages not far away down the coast and along nearby Strangford Lough. Travel to and from Belfast is easy by car or train.

Pleasant seaside town with attractive marina and a good range of shops. Parking seems to be easy (albeit I was there off season) and free. Some bits of town very run down, like many resorts, but mostly quite nice and has been improved. Very handy for city airport and transport links to Belfast are good.

I was only there for one night so it would be unfair to comment too much but it was friendly as I went for an evening walk. Like many seaside towns, its tired in places but there looks as if there is plenty of good about Bangor.

Everything was great big beautiful house. Hosts are absolutely brilliant. Two bedrooms to choose from, two spacious livingrooms both extremely comfortable. Fantastic kitchen, location is to die for with great shops, marina bay and bars near by all within walking distance. Went to Donegans bar for food and drinks was so nice we went back the next day staff was awesome food was unreal cannot wait for our next trip back. But the star of the stay for me was the big gorgeous bath tub I most definitely will be back just for that tub. xX

Lovely house, loads of space. Such a pleasure to stay in a real family home full of art and books and cosy corners to relax in. Right on the front so lovely views and had the weather been better we would have enjoyed sitting out in the garden. Great to have two living rooms so little ones can play and watch cartoons in one and the 'grown ups' can enjoy peace and quiet in the other!

The hostess was amazing couldn't be more helpful. We were offered reservations to the lodges restaurant but we said we were going into bangor for dinner. This is when bar staff gave us recommendations of other places in bangor that we could go for dinner and they weren't wrong the place we went to was also lovely
