We had the cosy room so a little small but that was down to our budget. The Location, food, staff, All excellent. Lots of good quality toiletries in the bathroom, so no need to bring your own!The best breakfast selection we have had for a long time.
Rooms exceptional. Staff very helpful. In beautiful countryside. Lovely walks especially the wood. Nice shop full of different things to please everybody’s taste. Full of quirky items around the place to make one laugh. A very enjoyable stay. Good also for cyclists and walkers.

Beautiful location, fantastic themed rooms , we stayed in the Victorian room. Food was delicious and the staff were very happy and friendly. Gift shop, art gallery and woodland walk were a lovely extra to this great place.
This quirky hotel is in a quiet, secluded, location, ideal for touring East/North Yorkshire. The themed rooms are gorgeous, spotlessly clean and replenished daily. The owners made us feel very welcome and provided us with very hearty breakfasts and an evening meal. The portions are very generous! We enjoyed the grounds and the quirky treasure hunt! Will no doubt return in the future!
The hotel was the most unique place to stay, quite an Alice Through the Looking Glass experience, needs to be experienced to understand just how different it is.
The owners were very kind and give a top notch service to their guests. Please go and stay in this lovely house, and appreciate the thought, beauty and hard work that has been put into it.

Food was excellent. Staff very attentive and obliging. Rooms were all different and well appointed. Lots of quirky aspects in the grounds. Much thought and attention to detail is evident through the hotel.
