High quality facilities (TV, coffee machine, heaters, mattress), amazing view.
Turckheim is a small, beautiful Alsatien village. You can easily walk round the perimeter of the village in under an hour. You would be on foot. This is not a place for cars. There are some lovely historical houses to see and it's just a delightful place to be in. There is a small Casino supermarket, a post office and a pharmacy as well as two brilliant patisseries - best eclair au cafe that I've ever had. I ate in the restaurant next to the hotel. Being on my own I ate at lunchtime and had the plat du jour. All the staff were friendly and the service was exceptional. They also do a tarte du jour. If you don't want to pay for bottled water then ask for a carafe d'eau. Did the nightly tour with the nightwatchman. If you don't speak French then this will be difficult. I wish I could have stayed longer. Next time I'll stay here rather than Colmar. The bus from just outside the main gate to the centre of Colmar is 1 euro 40. There's a bus every 30 minutes. The bus also stops at Colmar station.

1. Dangerous steps in communal area. One has to put one's foot skew on the steps especially when going down as they are not wide enough. The steps make a 90 degree turn and are narrow. At the turn you have to move direction the wall. I slipped from the steps and broke my back.
2. A lot of dust in room plus beer bottles from previous guest or attendant.
3. Builders dust on the steps.
4. Builder next to our unit drilling, they are renovating a room.
5. Grass too high, gets cut twice a year, tables and chairs overgrown.overgrown

We were on our way home from Italy.
We were on our way home from Italy. It was the perfect stop for us. The apartment is great for 5 or 6 people for one night. For less people it is great to stay for a couple of days.
The village is charming and you find great wine and food from the Elzas.
I will go back.

Turckheim is a cosy and charming town where you can enjoy a small city walk and have dinner in one of its many restaurants.
On summer evenings you can even enjoy the city walk with a guide in authentic attire for free (only available in French).
The main advantage is that it isn't crowded with tourists.
It's also the perfect base to visit surrounding villages.

Turckheim is a quaint historic old town.
Turckheim is a quaint historic old town. Although small, it's an enjoyable place to stay because of its history and selection of restaurants. It's also conveniently within driving distance of many other attractions in Alsace. Strasbourg is only about 2 hours drive away and there are many beautiful wine villages, vintners, within 30-40 minutes drive.
The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area about 10 minutes walk from the historic town centre. It is run by 2 women who are most welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious and comfortable with separate loo and bathroom. Ask for one with a balcony. Breakfast had everything except anything hot. The pool is heated and about 7 metres long. Dinner was adequate though the ambiance was lacking. We would stay here again. There are lots of little thoughtful touches to enhance one’s stay.
L’Escargot was spacious, comfortable and perfectly positioned within the lovely village of Turckheim. Loved having a king-sized bed and the bedroom drapes allowed us to shut out the light as the sun started shining at 5 am! Also enjoyed the chairs in the bay window overlooking the Main Street while reading or having a glass of the local wine. Finally, proprietor was very helpful getting us checked in and giving us wonderful advice about what to see in the area.
Superb site in the heart of the town, with a lovely view of the church and the mediaeval garden. Quirky, interesting design fitted into a tight space. No oven, but everything we needed for a short stay and very comfortable.
Turckheim itself is a gorgeous village and very conveniently placed for that part of Alsace. We visited wine places and several castles - and there was far more left over if we'd been there longer.
The location in an old house (I think 16th century) was wonderful, directly downtown Turckheim. We loved it and were very comfortable. Kitchen had lots of utensils and cooking equipment. Bathroom was roomy and modern. Bedroom was a nice size. WLAN worked great. Parking across the street was very convenient. Renter was very friendly and helpful.
location - in old city of turckheim. beautiful place. scenic roads and wine yards.
parking - available in front and also one can park inside.
ample space to sleep. well equipped kitchen.
wonderful host. explained every detail and ensured we were comfortable.
This is a high end hotel with ample lounge spaces including an open courtyard. It’s very comfortable and tastefully presented with a fabulous restaurant, where we enjoyed 2 beautiful dinners and a breakfast. It’s very central yet quiet.
Beautiful location in the old village of Turckheim. Watching the storks on their nest from the large balcony was a delight every evening. Very well appointed house. Best bed ever! Host was very pleasant, discreet and helpful.
This is fabulous apartment for 2 in the centre of Turckheim, close to everything. The decor is very relaxing and we had a super time. We will definitely be visiting again. It has everything you need and is very comfortable.
Very friendly welcome. Nice old house, very attractive and comfortable. Immediately in the beautiful village of Turckheim and many restaurants around. very close to Colmar, easy parking.
Very nice breakfast.
Cosy hotel, which radiates the rich history of the Alsace. Great hospitality by a very kind and helpful host. For guests who don't (fully) master French, it us good to know that your host speaks English.
Loved the location of L'Escargot, right in the heart of Turckheim. Easy access with the host Roland being very helpful and informative. Comfortable and full of character.
Absolutelly amazing place, the most cute house in Turckheim. We had everything we needed, two rooms, two toilets, kitchen, dining table, space for our car and bikes.
That was the best hotel i have ever stayed in. I wish i could take it with me to every journey. Don't miss the opportunity to stay in it if you ever visit Turckheim.
