The old city centre is very enjoyable to walk through even with younger children. Tours is a vibrant city because of its university. There is plenty to see in terms of culture and architecture. And with all its different restaurants, bars and eateries, Tours is a haven for foodies.

Tours is a fantastic place to visit.
Tours is a fantastic place to visit. Plenty of amazing places to eat and walking and travelling around the city is great. We've been before and stayed outside of the main area and commuted by the trams. This time we stayed more central and found it was easy to walk from our accommodation to the heart of the city. We ate at a Brasserie just round the corner from Place Plumerau. Meal was brilliant and we had cocktails and wine. All very well priced at 68 euros for two.
We went on after for a stroll around the shops and ended up at Place Plumeau where there were lots of people out enjoying drinks in the square - so we joined them!

I wasn't aware this was a college town, so it wasn't the ambiance I expected. Overall, the stay was good, and we stayed there to catch tours to the castles which were about an hour away. The small street train was a delightful tour of the town.
The room was fine ( when we eventually got to it as to which please see below ) Furthermore ,although it was not possible to have a restaurant meal in the hotel itself, there are nearby facilities. For anyone with the time available to them they would also be able to take advantage of the tramway ,which serves Tours ,easily enough as there is a station /stop very near the hotel.
Friendly welcome. We really appreciated the advice in advance regarding parking options nearby. Great location on street with many restaurants and in walking distance of all main attractions. Great recommendations on where to eat from the owner. It was a flying visit to Tours for us en route to Calais, but we definitely will visit again and stay at Hotel Colbert
The hotel was right in the centre of Tours which was great. It was great to be in such an old building, looking out into the old town; we had a great view. The staff were helpful. There were lots of restaurants, bars and shops in the area, and a lot of attractions nearby.
Excellent!! A furnished apartment at a high level that has everything in the city center of Tours, close to the attraction and best restaurants, with privet parking. it was great to saty and we will back again.
