France’s 4th largest city, Toulouse abounds with beautiful red-brick buildings that have earned it the nickname Pink City. The focal point is Place du Capitole, a large square lined by restaurants and the grand Capitole building which is spectacularly lit at night. Equally impressive at night is the Pont-Neuf, a 16th-century bridge spanning the Garonne River.
This remarkably green city has many tree-lined boulevards and parks offering shade. It has a laidback, almost alternative vibe, perhaps due to its huge student population. The cuisine is also fantastic – try the regional duck and the cassoulet.
Must-see Toulouse sights include the UNESCO World Heritage-listed, 10th-century Basilica of Saint Sernin and the Georges Labit Museum, a fascinating collection of Asian and Egyptian artefacts. Record-breaking Stade Toulousain rugby union club is also based here – catch a match to experience the Gallic passion.
Out by Lasbordes Airport is Cité de l’Espace, a space-themed amusement park, particularly suited to young children. Another aviation-related feature is the city’s main industry - the Airbus-EADS factory, just north of Toulouse Blagnac Airport. Book in advance for a tour that includes the Airbus A380 production line.
To complete your stay, Booking.com has a range of Toulouse accommodation from hostels to motels and hotels.

Toulouse is a rare gem - it has much to offer without being too crowded or too big. You can reach the following on foot: nice museums, churches, an opera and three covered markets. Tram T1 will take you to Aeroscpoia where you can see two Concordes and a beautiful A380. A walk down the Canal du Midi is a must.
If you get hungry, no worries: You’d need a year to get to all the restaurants. My favourite: Atelieur du Pêcheur near the Pont Neuf.

Surprisingly so much to do and see in this town. Great town for walking and even if you do take the Metro, it's fast and easy.
So many good places to eat. There were things I didn't even get to see because I was having such a good time wandering.
Easy to get to all the lovely towns around the area via train or car.

Marche Victor Hugo, wow!
Marche Victor Hugo, wow! Vendors are so friendly and tolerant of my A1 french level. This market is food heaven for me & there's restaurants above cooking the market produce. I enjoyed just meandering around the city & it felt positive - there's quite a lot of reconstruction/repointing of buildings. I think Toulouse is generally changing the dark cement between the red brick to a light shade and almost levelling it with the brick, bar a few mm which gives it a much more french aesthetic. I love the french culture of people watching in squares which is prevalent here. I will definitely go back for a longer holiday.

Toulouse was great.
Toulouse was great. I only had two half days on the journey to Andorra, but the walk to the river Garonne, a crazy blue jay in the park behind the University, and the places and neighborhoods in between were great. I'll come back for a longer stay. I'll choose a cooler season though!
Lovely fully equipped and clean room for an affordable price. The host was amazing and went above and beyond for us. The hotel was about a 6 minute walk to the bus stop which would get you to the centre of Toulouse. If you don’t want to get the bus in, it is about a 20 minute walk. The room has cooking facilities so handy if you want to make your own meals (we did not use this so unable to comment further). Excellent shower
The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to help us and make us feel welcome. The hotel is beautifully decorated and easy to move around. The restaurant is lovely. The rooms were comfortable. They had tea/coffee making facilities and a TV. It is 7-10 minutes taxi ride from the airport, and an easy bus ride into the centre of Toulouse. (Bus stop was right outside the hotel).
Very happy with this brand new hotel located in a quiet residential area, but on the main bus route to the airport. The bed was very comfortable, having kitchen facilities in the room was great bonus too. The hotel is around 30 minutes walk from the city centre, but we thoroughly enjoyed finding different routes to use, along the canal, through the park etc
The location was brilliant, just a short walk to lovely cafes and restaurants and the centre of Toulouse. The hotel garage was so secure and the staff very friendly and informative.
