One of the best self catering holiday cottages we have ever stayed at. Large airy space, spotless cleanliness, fully equipped kitchen with pre-stocked essential items, super comfy mattress. Chateau grounds are beautiful & you also get a welcoming committee of 3 cute wee dogs who love a belly rub. We hope to stay again on our next trip to Normandy.
The Hôtel de Paris dates back to 1894, and is located just off the D650, a 2-minute walk from the town center and 3.8 km from the Channel Islands ferry terminal.

Very helpful staff. Good breakfast. It was good to have a secure room to put our bicycles. Had a secluded, peaceful garden with tables and chairs which you could use in the evening. Simple but comfortable bedrooms

Lady very helpful on my arrival. Quick to show me where the ebike could be secure overnight and get charged. Went to put the kettle on to make me a hot drink as we were chatting. Showed me the microwave and cooker etc.

Breakfast available in the morning.
Next morning as I headed for Cherbourg within a kilometer I found a cycle track Cherbourg to St Michel.
A great way to end my 6000km cycle around Europe

A lovely spot in Normandy for a relaxing break, Lindbergh beach is great for sunbathing and swimming. Nearby Portbail makes a great visit, pretty and with good shops, bars, market, exhibitions. Best for a really relaxing break, for busier days you can visit places like Granville, Coutances, Bayeux but need to be prepared for 1h+ of driving each way. We wished we had visited St-Lo city as it looked great when we drove back to the ferry. You can drive to Valognes and catch the train to Bayeux, St Lo or Caen.

The area is quintessentially French, fabulous markets, lovely places to visit and the beaches with views of Jersey are pristine.
All restaurants and shops are closed on sundays and often Monday.
The local vet in Portbail was brilliant.
Eat the menu du jour for an inexpensive delicious three course meal in the day
