Large, clean and comfortable room, although slightly quirkily arranged, in a typically French Renaissance building. Access to a huge balcony extending the whole width of the hotel (hence the hotel's name). Lovely views across the Place de la Republique to the castle and castle park. Tea/coffee making equipment provided together with food for an introductory snack. Easy, free public car parking close to the hotel. On site bar/restaurant.

A beautiful stay, with every detail obviously carefully considered, this place will have you wishing you could stay for longer! Olivier and Ingrid were glorious, extremely welcoming and with a wealth of knowledge. We chose to stop here when driving from Cherbourg to southern Spain, plumping for Pons simply because it was en route. The tiny village turns out to be awash with ancient buildings, including the pilgrims’ hospital, a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Everything is within easy walking distance. It’s worth paying the few euros entrance fee to climb up the donjon tower - all that’s left of the once-massive ancient castle - for great views over the countryside. You can use the 17th century grand staircase to get down to the river where there are picnic tables and shady walks along the banks.
The best restaurant in town, according to our hosts, is the one in the Hotel de Bordeaux, which sadly wasn’t open the night we wanted. However, we can recommend L’Arriere Cour - generous portions of good food at reasonable prices. There is a charming vine-shaded courtyard at the back. The lady host was amusing and keen to practise her English!

Pons is a nice small provincial town with a industrial past a lot of historical buildings. It's close to the A10, so ideal to stay when you have to travel further. It's in the Cognac region, so you can visit the vineyards or just drink the cognac.

Pons is a unspoiled Medieval town with great walks and views. The Donjon (fortified tower) wasn't open as we did visit in February and it only opens (I think) from April - October. There is a lot to visit in the area but we did not have time for that.

A very pretty historic town.
A very pretty historic town. We were there when there was a 'marche nocturne' one Friday night. Lots of food, drink and craft stalls, trestle tables and chairs set out next to the castle and town hall. Ended up sitting eating and drinking with some locals and enjoyed conversing with them. Would definitely recommend coinciding a visit to Pons with one of these evenings. Also visited the Chateau des Enigmes which was a fun half day's entertainment and then the outdoor town pool to cool off afterwards.
Great find, the rooms are like having your own ground floor small apartment, so easy to access. The owners usefully met us on arrival as they live on the plot and were very helpful and explained how everything worked in the accommodation. Really good breakfast, very quiet over night and comfy bed and super hot shower. Parking right outside the property and an easy walk into beautiful Pons for a Leffe and a meal.
Le Clerc supermarket easy to find for fuel and provisions.
I do not hesitate to recommend
every aspect of this stay.
The Chateau was a big old farm house along the river not far away from the small town of Pons or the main road down south or up north. The small village itself was a charming place to walk and Pons was very interesting too. Our room was really a spacious room with a lovely bathroom. Especially we liked old wooden floor. Breakfast was excellent and the owners showed us real warm hospitality. A good bonus was a small pool in the garden.
For an overnight stop passing through France, this was ideal. Not too far from the motorway and in a lovely square in Pons. We had a spaceous room with a good sized bathroom and large shower...and loved the decor. Previous reviews have mentioned people eating outside the bedroom window, but this was not an issue for us as it had been closed off by the owners (we like to think because the room was occupied) so privacy was not an issue.
lovely spot in an interesting old town, bit hot at night, but we visited in the July heatwave (circa 38-41C while we were there) so almost to be expected, luckily the pool and the delightful private enclosed garden were wonderful places to cool off in the afternoon. An unexpected bonus was a fascinating post-breakfast lesson on the history of Pons from the very enthusiastic and knowledgeable hostess.
Our favorite stay during our trip. The owners were simply wonderful, the rooms cute and the location conveniently close to Pons. The house is pretty and the grounds are nice as well, but the most amazing thing were all the animals. They make this a very special place.
We stayed for 2 nights early August. A fabulous place to stay in Pons.. the owner Denise was so welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was excellent with everything that you needed. Breakfast was superb. A brilliant choice.
Lovely and comfy room ,plenty of choice for breakfast .Exceptional in obtaining help in getting our PCR test en-route back to the UK.We definitely could't have done this without the help of the owners of the hotel Pascal and his wife Patricia .
Second time at this lovely accomodation. Spacious, warm room with very friendly host. 15 minute walk into Pons. We will be back on our next journey through France
The hotel is beautiful, location is perfect, room is spacious and very clean. Wonderful breakfast with 2 charming dogs is included) Highly recommended!
