The Chateau was a big old farm house along the river not far away from the small town of Pons or the main road down south or up north. The small village itself was a charming place to walk and Pons was very interesting too. Our room was really a spacious room with a lovely bathroom. Especially we liked old wooden floor. Breakfast was excellent and the owners showed us real warm hospitality. A good bonus was a small pool in the garden.

Breakfast was excellent. Location was excellent - both the room itself and the sitting area outside. Pascal and Patricia were charming though they don't speak English.

We chose to stop here when driving from Cherbourg to southern Spain, plumping for Pons simply because it was en route. The tiny village turns out to be awash with ancient buildings, including the pilgrims’ hospital, a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Everything is within easy walking distance. It’s worth paying the few euros entrance fee to climb up the donjon tower - all that’s left of the once-massive ancient castle - for great views over the countryside. You can use the 17th century grand staircase to get down to the river where there are picnic tables and shady walks along the banks.
The best restaurant in town, according to our hosts, is the one in the Hotel de Bordeaux, which sadly wasn’t open the night we wanted. However, we can recommend L’Arriere Cour - generous portions of good food at reasonable prices. There is a charming vine-shaded courtyard at the back. The lady host was amusing and keen to practise her English!

Pons is a nice small provincial town with a industrial past a lot of historical buildings. It's close to the A10, so ideal to stay when you have to travel further. It's in the Cognac region, so you can visit the vineyards or just drink the cognac.

Pons is a unspoiled Medieval town with great walks and views. The Donjon (fortified tower) wasn't open as we did visit in February and it only opens (I think) from April - October. There is a lot to visit in the area but we did not have time for that.

A very pretty historic town.
A very pretty historic town. We were there when there was a 'marche nocturne' one Friday night. Lots of food, drink and craft stalls, trestle tables and chairs set out next to the castle and town hall. Ended up sitting eating and drinking with some locals and enjoyed conversing with them. Would definitely recommend coinciding a visit to Pons with one of these evenings. Also visited the Chateau des Enigmes which was a fun half day's entertainment and then the outdoor town pool to cool off afterwards.
For an overnight stop passing through France, this was ideal. Not too far from the motorway and in a lovely square in Pons. We had a spaceous room with a good sized bathroom and large shower...and loved the decor. Previous reviews have mentioned people eating outside the bedroom window, but this was not an issue for us as it had been closed off by the owners (we like to think because the room was occupied) so privacy was not an issue.
First class B&B, warm welcome and easy to find. Room comfortable with all expected amenities, just make sure you have shower gel / shampoo as none in the bathroom. Parking free in the square by the tower and is about 100yds away. We ate and drank at Cafe Donjon next to the square which was superb. Breakfast was great, especially if the weather good so you can sit outside in the garden. Will definitely stay here again if back in Pons.
The breakfast was excellent and so was the dinner the night before. The courtyard with its gurgling fountain was a haven after a blisteringly hot drive down and the gourmet menu was reasonably priced and outstanding. Pons itself is charming and we shall definitely go again when we are on our travels through France.
Our favorite stay during our trip. The owners were simply wonderful, the rooms cute and the location conveniently close to Pons. The house is pretty and the grounds are nice as well, but the most amazing thing were all the animals. They make this a very special place.
We stayed for 2 nights early August. A fabulous place to stay in Pons.. the owner Denise was so welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was excellent with everything that you needed. Breakfast was superb. A brilliant choice.
Lovely and comfy room ,plenty of choice for breakfast .Exceptional in obtaining help in getting our PCR test en-route back to the UK.We definitely could't have done this without the help of the owners of the hotel Pascal and his wife Patricia .
Beautiful stay in Pons with Paskalle and Eva who were so lovely and welcoming - making a big fuss of the children. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and the beds were super comfy! Breakfast was amazing. Didn't want to leave - 100% recommend!
Very nice place in small medieval town of Pons. Nice surroundings, garden, comfortable room (I stayed in a small house), a small pool, very quiet. I enjoed my first stay and I am very grateful for kind hosts!
