All the staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was great value at 10.95 more than enough choice, even got tokens to use for drinks for the days we did not have the room serviced .Safe car park , booking advised as it can get busy. La Rochelle is a resort with a maritime feel. Plenty of interesting history which relates back to mediaeval times and La Rochelle's close connection and intertwinement with England during those times. Recommend to start with a guided tour. Our guide John really set the scene and gave us ideas of where to go . The three towers make for a fascinating visit. A trip over to the Isle of Ré where you can hire bikes for a leisurely trip round the island is well worth it. La Rochelle is small enough to find your way round with ease. Bikes and on foot are the general modes of transport. Many pedestrianised areas with cobbled streets, a wonderful harbour, splendid market and a variety of excellent restaurants.

What I liked the most: historical sites, harbour, beach promenades, gorgeous public parks, relaxing atmosphere in the city and shops, very helpful and friendly people, always offered help when I was looking at the map without me asking, enough public toilets, fantastic food even in supermarkets.
What I didn't like: The bus stops of the whole journey are not listed at the bus stops. Only the name of the bus stop itself, the final destanation and a timetable. There is also a map with one million bus routes, but it is a bit confusing. No list of bus stops on buses either, although bus stops are announced. In the Aquarium you can only get an audio guide giving a ticket seller your ID, which will be returned to you only when you return the audio guide. It was the only museum ever in my experience, which needed to keep my ID until I return the audio guide. I wasn't ready to trust a stranger with the only document I had abroad, so I refused. I find such policy quite extreme.

La Rochelle is a beautiful place, great history and architecture and wonderful to wander around. Local food and wine was excellent.
Sadly we had rain a lot of the time so we didn't get to any beaches, and we took the 2 hour boat trip to Fort Boyard, but there wasn't much else to see, so I doubt I would recommend that unless you just want to watch the water for 2 hours. Some upscale shopping in the old town, and some wonderful fresh food and seafood markets.
A superb classical guitarist played in the street by the boats, in the late afternoon.
Altoether a pleasant place to spend a few days.

I'd been to La Rochelle about 20 years ago for work and had little opportunity to do the tourist thing. A beautiful town, excellent market and shops and great dining. Go for it if those things float your boat.
Chosen as a pet friendly hotel and right in the heart of the city, this hotel exceeded our expectations with its epic balcony view. We made sure we went for the harbour view as the river view wasn't great. The lady at the reception was very nice and made our dog feel welcome. We didnt go for the breakfast as was too near the city so wanted to explore. There are street parties below that go late into the night but they have done there best with a double door feature to dull the sound. Parking was 5 minutes away and cost me €5
The hotel location is ideal and in a really nice area close to lovely restaurants etc. While the comfort room was quite small, it had everything and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was really lovely with lots of homemade and local options and the breakfast staff were really nice. Reception were really helpful and they noted that it was really difficult to get a taxi in La Rochelle so we appreciate them ordering one for us in advance of departure.
Very central location in the heart of beautiful La Rochelle.
We stayed in family room/suite with a Beatles theme! The hotel is charming and the people who work there are lovely.
The main bedroom had one enormous bed with a temporary bed for our youngest. Our other 2 children were in a bedroom off the main bedroom with 2 single beds.
The property is a little dated but we would highly recommended. La Rochelle is a beautiful and very friendly town.
Perfect location by the train station and 10 minute walk to the beautiful city center and marina. Loved the cleanliness and nice room. I also am working remotely at night and the breakfast room was happily opened for me to work in there. I was grateful for this since I'd been locked out of common spaces at other hotels on my trip. Highly recommend this hotel.
Great little hotel on our road trip through France. Half an hours walk from La Rochelle old town along the sea in a suburban neighbourhood so best of both worlds. Basic but perfect with sea views, a terrace and underground parking. Full of all nationalities, walkers, cyclists, tourists. We had a room with a balcony which would have been lovely in the sun.
The hotel was very easy to book, find and the stay was one of the best ive had.
I travel through France regularly on my way to Spain and I try to find different places to stay each time, I'll now be using BE Masqhotel everytime.
Staff, especially Simon made me feel at ease and couldn't do enough for me. Thank you.
Perfect location to explore La Rochelle,15 minute stroll to the port and old town.
Hotel is tidy and well organised for evening drinks and has a broad menu for self service breakfast.
Parking was easy, we pre-booked a space ,parked nearby and were given the underground parking access code at check in.
location is excellent, very quiet yet absolutely at the heart of La Rochelle, staff very polite and attentive, breakfast with very good options and quality, private parking at the premises, very clean and comfortable room. excellent use of space
Excellent location, within walking distance of the main tourist attractions of La Rochelle. Clean and comfortable room. Useful information provided in advance on where to park our car (the hotel does not have its own parking).
Nice location, clean and well maintained hotel. Beach and beautiful park just across the street. Easy access to old port entertainment district in walking distance. Nice comfortable bed, animal friendly.
Located in the city center. Nice design/boutique hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was one of the best we had during our trip through France.
