Nothing , the hotel itself is clinical , cold , uninviting , staff extremely unfriendly , we said good morning every day and we were completely ignored , they threw their eyes up to heaven if we dared to ask for a simple thing like salt .. cold water in boiler for tea .. bread stale , smell in hotel and in restaurant , our bathroom was disgusting on arrival ,had to ask for it to be cleaned again , no mini bar or coffee espresso in room ... rooms very dated and balconies dirty , receptionist staff particularly rude and unwelcoming ... never again

Excellent stay en route to Spain. Very clean and comfortable bed, room and bathroom. The restaurant manageress was extremely welcoming, very efficient and pleasant. The dinner was delicious and good value. Breakfast had a variety of choices. The hotel manager was very pleasant. I would definitely stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Romy's apartment. It was comfortable and very clean. The apartment is in a great location for visiting San Sebastian by train (5.5 euros return). The train station was less than a 10 minute walk. The marina and beach at Hendaye is worth a visit too as is Hondarribia via a 7 minute boat trip from the marina. After our full days out, we loved going back to Romy's apartment and chilling out on the very comfortable balcony.
We would not hesitate in recommending Romy's apartment - she was so nice to deal with and made sure we had everything we needed.

Hendaye is beautiful but Hendaye Plage itself is a little beautiful beach village with no good restaurants-who goes to France and has bad dinners?!.
Also - we had a terrible experience with the rental property we rented near where we have family living.The people who ran the agency that managed our apartment through booking.com/poplidays.com were very unprofessional and unaccommodating when we had serious issues. The property manager or the owner -- I don't know which was greedy and used our security deposit to cover expenses that were outrageous. There was one little smudge on the glass stove top and they withheld 80+ euros for cleaning. The place was spotless except for the smudge. This was just a way to get more money when we already payed a huge amount for a week's rent. They also charged us for a repair to the shutter that would not go down. The day we arrived, the door lock was not working and it required a locksmith to come as we were locked out. They were unreachable for a few hours and provided terrible customer service and the property manager rep who came was cussing up a storm because she had to work after hours. Everyone we dealt with before during and after this rental was obnoxious and not the least bit concerned about us or our experience. They just want the money. So good luck if you go there!

Love it there, many day trips possible closeby in France as well as in Spain: hikes in the lower Pyrenees, bike rides, visiting cities like San Sebastian, Biarritz or Bilbao - or the cute Basque villages. The beach is fantastic, good to know that the weather may vary as it is on the Atlantic side and at the foot of the Pyrenees.

We like Hendaye, having stayed there many times. The beach is excellent. Splashing around in the surf is great fun. There are plenty of places to eat and drink. We have returned several times to a creperie near the seafront - highly recommended. The promenade has been improved recently. We prefer Hendaye to its better known neighbours.

We ate in the Santiago Hotel restaurant. The food was good and there was a vegetarian option.
We found the river and walked along the wooden walkway. There were lots of birds to see.
At present it is not easy to get around Hendaye as there are major works on the main road, and the train to Hendaye from San Sebastien stopped before Hendaye and we were sent to buses to take us the rest of the journey
Not only the room were spacious it was very clean. Also, the food was extremely delicious and was cook by a young chef wit great kknowledge of cooking. The young lady serving our table, was extremely kind and helpful in translating the menu for us since they only had it French. We recommend to have the menu in Ingles and in Spanish. If you like a clean roomy room and a place to eat, this is the Hotel for you with underground garage. We din't try their breakfast.
Hotel Valencia was everything I had hoped it would be. The location was perfect and we had a balcony that looked onto the beach. The room's lighting was excellent. The furniture was beautifully designed and functional. The bathroom had good lighting and a very enjoyable shower. We had a great time and are definitely going to make this a regular stop on our drive to Spain.
A very nice apartment with an amazing view from the terrace to the ocean. The interior furniture is very good and Frédéric, the owner, was very helpful to make the stay comfortable and easy.
Furthermore, the location of the apartment is ideal to explore the area around Hendaye, e.g. San Sebastian, Hondarribia and St. Jean-de-Luz.
Really close to the beach and restaurantes. This hotel, although rated a 3 star still, has just undergone complete renovations and it is incredibly cute, well decorated, impeccably clean and quiet! You can’t go wrong with it. It is apparently going to be rated a 4 star and it deserves it. Breakfast was plenty!
Natacha was very friendly and made us feel at home. We could take our meals on the terrace with sea view and the shared leaving room was very nice too. The Casa is perfectly located, close to Hendaye center and the domaine/chateau d’Abbadia. Merci Natacha !!
Really nice place in Hendaye, hidden in a simple camping. We have stayed in a glamping tent which is well equiped, comfortable and classy. We had the chance to spend the night with the staff, just like in a hostel. Really good experience, highly recommended!

Very clean and accessible property. Note that the room is not in the centre of Hendaye but is in a quiet and peaceful residential part of town. We walked to the beach in 20 minutes. Montse is a wonderfully kind and generous host - muchas gracias Montse!
Hotel was near to train station. In a nice situation and we had a view of the mountains from our room. Staff were very helpful. We arrived early and were able to leave our bags. Room was comfortable and very quiet. Close to town for restaurants.
The breakfast offered for extra cost was exceptional, best part of the stay. There is a bus close to the hotel which can take you to the train station. There is also a nice path to the water that takes you on a long walk around the water.
Affordable place to stay in Hendaye, bunk bed in a tent. I started the Camino from the Surf Camp. It was about an 8 km walk using Google Maps from there to Irun where I started following the yellow arrows. Nice folks with a chill vibe.
Natasha offers a cute, comfortable, and quiet bed and breakfast in the hills of Hendaye with a view of the bay. We did not have a car, but two bus stops are within a 2 minute walk. The bus took us to all the places we wanted to go.
The location was perfect for walking around on our own and seeing both Hendaye and Hondarribia.The house is very close to the border bridge! It is near a bus stop and walking distance to Euskotren station as well!
