We have stayed here many times and it's always a pleasure. Very handy for the motorway but very peaceful, with the most beautiful grounds. Rooms are lovely, staff always delightful and the meals in the restaurants are excellent - much better of late so I'm assuming they have a new chef.
The Originals Boutique, La Maison Rouge, Lens Ouest is located in Nœux-les-Mines, a 10-minute drive from Louvre-Lens Museum and Béthune and a 20-minute drive from Arras.

We stayed for one night on route back to the UK. What a lovely, small hotel! Plenty of parking in it's carpark too. There was a local wedding party mid flow when we arrived a few minutes before official check-in time but, despite the staff being quite busy, we were greeted and checked in with efficiency and friendliness by the young lady on reception. She even showed us to our room, pointing out the restaurant and breakfast room along the way. The happy wedding party was lovely to witness from the comfortable lounge area with a welcome cold drink from the small bar.
Our room was very quiet and comfortable with a small patio with chairs and a table to chill in the Sun for a little while before dinner. The beds were comfortable, the shower was good and the twin bathroom basins were a nice touch.
The restaurant was quiet (a Sunday evening) with only a handful of guests. The room was light and comfortable. We had a fantastic meal with wonderful wine. Really, this is food that we struggle to find in the UK and was quite unexpected. The profiterole was the best I've ever had I think and we're still talking about the veal a week later! We decided to have coffee in the lounge and (unprompted) the waiter brought us delicious freshly cooked madeleines to have with it. He brought them from the kitchen, holding the baking mould with a tea towel fresh from the oven - wow!
A highly recommended hotel that we'd stay at again without question.

A convenient place close to the English Channel for a stopover. Also close to the battle fields of World War One for those wanting to visit that area. The hotel, La Chatreuse du Val Esprit offers a range of good restaurants for residents and non-residents. Close to the motorway but not too close.
The hotel forms part of a converted farm complex that contains three restaurants and a small Chateau. The restaurant are the Verso, the Distillery, and the Chateau itself which also has some bedrooms. The restaurants vary in cost from the ‘Normal’ to the gourmet all excellent meals in convivial settings. The hotel is very good value with good sized rooms, each with its own air conditioning, large bathrooms and lashings of how water. Highly recommended and can’t wait to revisit.
The reason we booked this place is because an on site restaurant was open on the Sunday evening. Our room was amazing value for money, massive room clean and tidy with a large en-suite bathroom with bath and walk in shower. The WC was separate. Very comfy bed with fresh sheets and towels and a well stocked mini bar. I have already booked again for our next trip in a couple of weeks.
We have stayed at this hotel many times whist travelling to and from the south of France. The hotel has remained very dependable with a choice of restaurants and good food, pleasant rooms and an attentive staff. The gardens are well worth visit. The hotel is well placed close to the A26 motorway but not too close.
We have stayed here before and everything was fine except it had been a really sunny day and the room was very hot as there is no air conditioning. Other than that all was good at hotel and restaurant
Lovely setting, grounds and old buildings with lots of character. Room was spacious and well equipped. Always good to get tea and coffee making facilities which you don’t often get in a French hotel.
we’ve had an amazing stay at La Metairie hotel. Everything was great - welcoming staff, stylish and clean room, lovely dinner and amazing grounds. would love to come back
Great hotel in a peaceful location, the staff were very helpful and friendly, comfortable room. Good drinks served in the nearby castle. Would stay again if in the area.
