The decoration and the ambiance of the house and our room was fantastic! It is a beautiful restored building with a small perfectly maintained garden all within walking distance of the spectacular cathedral.

This is a gem! Antoine and Nicolas were extra friendly and. accommodating . Both speak English especially Nicolas so we got on extremely well with a mixture of the two languages Antoine cooked breakfast and evening meal. His choice made his ability as a qualified chef come through. Best of all they were interested in us as people not just customers. We are 78 but still active and always look for places like this to stay. It is excellent.

I absolutely loved this place and we’ve stayed in quite a few recently. The hosts are very welcoming, the provisions have been thoroughly and generously thought out. The room is so comfortable with a view to the majestic cathedral. Loved the winding stone staircase up four floors. Opens out onto the high street which in the run up to Christmas was a vibrant uplifting place to be.Enjoyed the roasted chestnuts.

Classic French town dominated by churches especially the RC cathedral. A few good restaurants and bars plus a superb themed botanical gardens. Cocktails in Le Club were excellent. Home cooking in A 3 Pas was tasty. Flowers throughout the town were very impressive. Good location for sightseeing and onward travel.

also seeing the many large photos around the town showing the result of the bombing in 1944 and the late liberation by American forces.
The room was fab. It was large, the bed was cozy, there was a place to sit and eat in the room. The bathroom and shower were roomy. The room was spotless. And best of all, it was quiet. The location was excellent, as I cam to Coutances to photograph the cathedral and this room is practically across the street from the cathedral. I was a little hesitant to rent a room in someone's house but this experience has motivated me to do this again.
The hotel is located on the edge of the old town, which can be easily reached on foot in around 500 meters. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was relatively plentiful by French standards. The room could be darkened relatively well. Somehow I got caught up in the last evening of the Jazz Sous Les Pommier festival. But because the music performances ended around 11pm, the night was quiet.
Excellent value for money hotel in optimal location beautifully appointed among the trees on the outskirts of lovely coutances. Excellent attentive staff. Area peaceful. Breakfast delicious with option of freshly squeezed orange juice. Complimentary tea/coffee/water in a sitting area for guests off the foyer which is a lovely idea. Also complimentary water in room.
The reception staff on arrival and departure were very professional. The room was very clean and well presented, as we were staying for 3 nights we were asked if we wanted the room 'tiding' but declined the offer, we did however get clean towels when needed. The breakfast was very good. The hotel was a pleasant walk into Coutances.

The breakfast was exceptional, with home-made jams and pastries. We'd recommend Hôtel Tanquerey de La Rochaisière to anyone visiting Coutances.
The place is brand new, spotless and modern. As good or better than some of the regular Ibis hotels. Very reasonably priced and staff seemed lovely. Would have been happy to stay longer if I was staying in the area.
Super friendly staff!! The Hotel was exceptionally clean, beds were comfortable. The room was big enough to accommodate my husband and me plus our dog (with dog bed). We would definately stay here again!
The location of the hotel was not well signposted -took us a couple of tries. Gardens were lovely and the parking secure. Antoine was very helpful in recommending/booking us a superb restaurant.
Friendly and helpful welcome. Pleasant bedroom, spacious en suite, very clean and new. Short walk to cathedral and city shops. Tranquil hotel: perfect after a busy day.
