Clean and comfortable room with a basic kitchen which is much needed by us after eating at restaurants for a month long holiday, quiet location and close to Chambord Castle, the another highlight is that guests can fill up their water bottles with filtered water provided.

In a quiet little village in the middle of ‘Chateau Country’. Plenty of parking, all ground level rooms, 24hr access to the kitchen area, an honesty system for coffee, beer, wine etc - quite refreshing in this day and age. Easy stroll to village centre. Would recommend the ‘Jar Meals’ and the madams restaraunt recommendations.

Great location just off the cycle path, in a pretty village just opposite an ancient church. Friendly service with superb food. Luckily they offered an evening meal option which was great as not many places open on Sundays...tricky if you arrive on bikes. The food was of the highest standard and the service was Friendly with a great ambiance. They also had a secure lock up for our bikes.

Was surprised to find such a nice hotel in that small village, Few rooms but mine was nicely set, well renovated with a huge bathroom, clean and confortable, quiet even with windows on the road. The great plus is that you are above the 1 star Michelin restaurant so you are sure to spend a great evening. Also near to Chambord, so great location for the Loire valley chateaux. Great value considering the reasonable price of the room.

Visiting the castle is an opportunity to learn more about François 1er. He is much more intelligent and visionary than he is portrayed in some TV shows and movies. If you want to know more about Francois 1er, you should complete the trip by visiting Fontainebleau.

Although I had been to Chambord numerous times, I was intrigued by the new presentation by Jacques Garcia. It brings the chateau to life. Before the entry was very austere. The Francois I apartment is more interesting, with a bed more in keeping with the time. There are a lot of interesting touches which reflect the lifestyle at the time such as the bed used for travel (from the period) and also the camp bed in the bedroom which would have been used by a manservant. My friends were impressed by the new kitchen section (kitchens don't interest me!).
A little taste of what it might have felt like to be a part of the French aristocracy. We felt like house guests of the charming Gael and Cecil. Don’t miss Gael’s tour, it truly places the chateau and its environs in historical and modern perspective. All we needed was a hunting outing to make it complete. Comfortable bed, luxuriant bathroom and products, delicious croissant and homemade honey and jams. Close enough to everything but far enough to feel like a true country escape. An easy launching to Chambord, Blois and Amboise.
Beautiful well preserved chateau, amazing historical significance, very clean, delicious daily french breakfast included in the price, very comfortable beds. The chateau owner and staff very friendly and attentive to all your needs ensuring you have the best possible time. I can’t wait to come back and bring my teenage boys. Central location close to the most popular tourist attractions. Because of this very special property, the Loire Valley will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart.
Lovely hotel in the grounds of the Chateau.
Tastefully decorated and very clean.
A lovely cosy fire in the reception area awaited our arrival.
A few individual shops and cafes just outside the hotel were a nice surprise.
We bought tickets for the Chateau at the hotel reception.
Beautiful views of the Chateau ........... romantic in the dining room in the evening.
Parking - outside the hotel. Segregated from the Chateau parking with barriers.
Lovely breakfast.
The grounds were spectacular! Our room was huge, bed super comfortable; I felt like a queen!! Breakfast was wonderful - croissants, baguette, variety of jams and jellies, local cheeses, meats, yogurt, granola, OJ, cakes, hot beverage. We were given a complimentary tour of
the chateau and its grounds wherein we learned so much history of the house and history of France. Our hosts were the best.
We liked the fact that it was in walking distance to Chateau Chambord and you could have a great outdoor view of this beautiful Chateau day or night. Rooms were quite small, but clean. The room we booked was facing a closed in courtyard/garden. We enjoyed dining in the main restaurant during one night of our stay. However, the restaurant could have had more staff on hand.
What an outstanding place, we enjoyed staying at Chateau des Grotteaux Près Chambord. The place is tastefully decorated, with a lot of details. The grounds are well kept with a swimming pool and Eiffel bridge, nice touch! The services were impeccable. The owners are very pleasant and informative. Overall, we will definitely recommend this place!
Location near the castle, so very close, is brilliant. Staff was very friendly and helpful.Rooms were luxurious. Beds were good and breakfast was excellent. Parking very close to the hotels apart from the visitiors of the chateau a pleasant service, avoiding having to look for a free spot.
he hotel is extremely comfortable, the room was spacious, very clean and the view to the simply cinematographic.
I had dinner at the bistro. The food was also very good.
If someone wants to see a video of the room and the view to the castle, please check my instagram @flaflabe.
This hotel exceeded our expectations. The hotel we assume has recently been renovated-so was contemporary against our expectation. We went there because of proximity to the castle. The staff were most helpful and obliging- which was great.
Fabulous location! Who doesn’t want to stare at the Château Chambord!
Service in the breakfast area was speedy and well run.
Free parking is great.
Overall very well run hotel - no serious issues to note.
it’s an incredible place! The French government, who set up the whole village and the hotel around the castle, thought of everything. The castle itself is very close and the history is amazing.
The hotel is lovely and is very much in style of the Chambord estate which enhances the experience. The location, the surrounding landscape and the proximity to Chambord are outstanding!
Chateau des Grotteaux was such a lovely place! Gael and family were the perfect hosts. The Chateau itself is beautifully restored, with a fascinating history.
