Location bang in the middle of town, which sounds great but not so convenient if you are arriving by car as it is all pedestrianised. Underground car park is good but takes some finding. Best hotel breakfast I've had in France for a long time.
The village is very small, no shops or cafes. Sundays and Mondays in the area are very quiet, many local restaurants were shut on both days. Supermarkets shut at midday on Sunday, so don't get caught out if you need provisions. The nearest supermarket is in Estissac, 4km away, open to 8pm weekdays. A buffet-style picnic supper or lunch is a good idea, the chateau has glorious terraces to sit out on and just enjoy the peace and quiet. If you want to eat out it may need a trip to Estissac or possibly even further afield to Troyes.
