Very interesting rock formations along the coast and superb beaches, with miles and clean sand. I particularly liked the walks along the coast. Excellent choice of restaurants and bars. A lovely relaxed vibe to the town. Within 45 minutes of walking off the plane, we had checked in and out to dinner. We liked Chez Albert, a seafood restaurant.

A beautiful area of France, not too touristy, safe, spotless and classy (I believe the French retire to this region, and understandably so). Very little (e)nglish spoken, and this adds to the overall experience. Designer shops everywhere and cheap 20 minute bus rides to surrounding towns and cities. I shouldn't be naming this region as France, because its predominantly Basque, a people who can track their unadlterated ancestry back 10,000 to the Cro Magnon. The Basque have their own language, music, food, etc so you're going to be spoled for choice.
Absolutely wonderful area with exceptional history.

The pace of life wonderful. It is very busy but never feels touristy or stressful. We went to the fireworks and the male singers street event and the atmosphere was so relaxed. Amazing to see that amount of people socialising and no stress

There is so much to see and do in around Biarritz.
There is so much to see and do in around Biarritz. We had planned visit into the Pyrenees but due to our car breaking down had to change some of our plans. Fortunately public transport is good so we managed a trip to Bayonne, St Jean du Luz and San Sebastian. I recommend them all a worthy visit.
In Biarritz you can lost with the shops and a visit to the Halles de Biarritz is a must and whilst wandering around it I recommend a stop off at 'Paul and Louis ' for a light lunch and lovely glass of local wine.
Tucked away we came across Hernani Restaurant which which was a fabulous find great food, drink and atmosphere.
Weather for us was fine sometimes grey in the morning but full sunshine and on the beach by 2pm. temperature is plesant around the mid 20's and not stifling through the night.
On one of the days where it rained we visited St Jean du Luz and enjoyed a day of mooching around shops, drinking , eating a bit of football with a win for England . Then we stumbled across some live music in the square at the Bandstand where a Pink Floyd Tribute band was paying my son and husband were in their element. Apparently this is a weekly event during the summer months and free whilst sipping on a Sangria or two.
Theres definitely alot more to the area than we manage to see and we will be back.

Spent 4 wonderful nights in Biarritz.
Spent 4 wonderful nights in Biarritz. It's a beautiful city with plenty to see and do, lots of great restaurants and great shopping. Lovely cycle route by the sea and to Bayonne, which is definitely worth doing. Loved the friendliness of the Basque French too. I will definitely come back to Biarritz.
We arrived early and the room was not ready but they said they would call us when ready after a short walk on the beach they called 30 mins later to say room was ready and we got in early. At check in the staff were friendly and helpful. Explained the city map to us for a walk about and where we could go at night to eat for a good choice and great atmosphere. Great location next to the beach. The breakfast was one of the best i have had in an hotel. Great choice and good food and looked after by very good and attentive staff.
Great location, close enough to walk (10 mins) to the town centre and beaches, but set back from the noisier tourist areas. It's an older style hotel but is very comfortable, clean and well appointed. My room was small but had everything needed for a short stay. The shower was excellent and the wifi was reliable and strong. The lady on reception was exceptionally friendly and helpful. If I return to beautiful Biarritz, I'd definitely try and stay in this hotel again. Recommended!
This was a really nice small hotel, just a few roads from the sea, with friendly, helpful and enthusiastic staff who made helpful recommendations on cafes and restaurants. We were able to park our car and leave it there until our departure to Biarritz airport in the afternoon, which was great. Our room was well designed, there was no noise overnight and the bed was very comfortable.
The rooms and hotel were always clean and tidy, and the rooms were cleaned daily. The location is perfect for walking everywhere you need to go. The best part about our stay was the lady at the front desk. Throughout our stay, she gave numerous suggestions of places to eat and visit and the best times to do these. Every suggestion was great and made our time in Biarritz.
