Beaulieu was really peaceful. Sitting in the evening watching the butterflies, lizards, birds, and later on, bats, was lovely.
We absolutely loved the lake. We were based on a quieter part, but drove a few times to rent a pedalo, a boat & to go on the assault course. They only take cash, but was very reasonably priced and the people were super friendly. The river off the lake is absolutely stunning.
The local boulangerie was brilliant & again, very friendly.
The food was excellent, the staff incredibly friendly and the location beautiful. It's quite remote and you'll need a car if you want a shop, but if it's peace and quiet you're after then the auberge at Beaulieu is ideal
