This comfortable and fully equiped appartment is located in appartment building in wonderful small town Orcival. For information, we rented towels and linens for 10 euros per person. The host was very kind and although we speak almost no French and he doesn't speak english, we managed to communicate with the help of google translate.
The thing we liked the most is the position of the house, just 3 minutes walking distance from the beautiful Notre Dame d'Orcival basilica and charming town's square. The town has visitors, but not too many, so it is not crowded and noisy. And the nights are extraordinary - the public lights are turned off between 23 and 6, so you can observe starry sky.

Very comfy bed, very good shower, very fast wifi. Excellently located for a range of hikes/walks. Fantastically constructed building by the host. The daily breakfast was a whole meal, which set me up for my days of hiking. A good variety of very nice evening meals to choose from. Delighted with my stay, and I look forward to returning.
Located in a small town close to Clermont-Ferrand and to the highway on the way towards Bordeaux, the hotel is a great traditional place to stop over and have a chance to enjoy the Auvergne area, including the volcanoes. Charming also because it's and old building and not a new "ibis" style hotel, integrating itself perfectly in Orcival town
The staff was really great and always tried to help and accommodate our needs and wishes, also in their restaurant. They were also very attentive to CoVID related measures and cleaning
Ran by a husband and wife team. They also own a restaurant 1 minute away which he is the chef and we had a lovely meal there for very reasonable prices.
The wife is the gem there. So friendly and helpful. Moved us to a room with aircon which we booked. Some rooms don't have it. Lovely local pints and wine offered. Beautiful location looking out at the historical D'Orvical Church from 1146.
She speaks clear English and joined us for a while to chat about her life and the town's history.

The Hotel Roche is in the centre of the beautiful village of Orcival. The family room was spacious and comfortable with a double bed and bunk bed and compact bathroom with great shower (and plenty of hot water after a day’s walking!) Accommodation is in the Hotel Roche, but dinner is across the village square in their very good restaurant, Le Cantou. There are also other excellent restaurants in the village for some variation. Coralie, on reception, is a delight and extremely helpful and friendly.
My husband and I had 3 nights stay. The breakfast was excellent, many different local cheeses and charcutterie from Auvergne, delicious homemade fruit pies and bread. We were overwhelmed and very satisfied. Furthermore we ordered a 3 course menu every evening, which our hostess, the hotel owner, cooked ecxellent and we looked forward "coming home" for this surprise of the day. Our hostess is an exstremely humorous and a nice person and so is her daily helper/assistance.
Wonderful location close to the volcanic hills and hiking trails. Charming little village to walk through and a few shops to visit. The hotel staff were friendly and fun. Despite not speaking German or English, communication was no problem and everything was fine.
