Mon Saint Michel B&B review
B&B can be so beautiful!
We spent 5 wonderful days at Mon Saint Michel end of May 2024.
As many people have already mentioned: Patricia's breakfast is wonderful and if you don't like sheep you should probably look for something else.
But then you miss out on the location! With a leisurely walk, stopping, looking, taking photos and finding it beautiful, you can easily reach Mont Saint Michel through the salt marshes in an hour.
However, the location has one disadvantage but also one advantage: there are virtually no opportunities to go out to eat in the evening without a car. But the advantage is that you can be on the mountain in an hour and there are plenty of good restaurants in the evening.
Our tips: LES TERRASSES DE LA BAIE and Le Mouton Blanc
And the Mon Saint Michel is an ideal starting point for day trips - but activate the ‘No motorway’ function on Google Maps - then you'll see more! We were in Cherbourgh, Grandville, Avranches and Saint-Malo, among other places.
Patricia also gave us the tip to make a detour to Cancale before Saint-Malo (10-15 minutes before Saint-Malo) with a wonderful view of St Michel, if the weather is fine:
A beautiful little harbour town! Completely overcrowded on Sunday lunchtime, romantically sleepy on Sunday evening and plenty of options for a good dinner.
Our tip: L'Aviron - delicious fish and wine with extremely friendly service from the daughter of the house and her mum!
In the evening you can sit out in the front garden or, if it rains, on the terrace behind the house.
We were even able to use one of the 2 fridges in the stairwell - so we could enjoy beautifully chilled Muscadet sur Lie in the front garden with a baguette / sandwich from Cherbourg-Octeville!
Admittedly not cheap but: location, location, location! And the complete package - it was perfect for us!
Many thanks to Patrica for everything and her special hospitality! Yours - Silvia & Arno
Situated in Saint-Georges-de-Gréhaigne, 10 km from Mont Saint Michel, ibis Pontorson Baie Du Mont Saint Michel features a terrace, bar, and restaurant.
Housed in a historical building, this hotel is ideally located in the heart of Mont Saint-Michel. The classic-style rooms overlook the bay, the abbey or the medieval city.

The room was spacious and comfortable, with a stunning view out over Le-Mont-Saint-Michel's walls onto the waters of the bay. Very good location right at the foot of the Grand Rue.
At the foot of the abbey, the Mouton Blanc Hotel, welcomes you in its historic 14th century location. Le Mouton Blanc provides comfortable rooms with a simple yet cosy decoration.

The Hotel is centrally located on Grande Rue which is the main narrow street leading to the famous abbey. Staff at the reception desk, especially Frederick, are very courteous, good listeners and helpful. Clean and comfortable bed and (although small) en-suite facilities complimented by a very good breakfast. From our bedroom window we can observe the abbey perched high up on the hill. If you truly like to experience Mont Saint Michel and is on your bucket list, forget a day trip and sleep at least a night inside its medieval walls. After the day trippers gone, the atmosphere is surreal and is really magical. Wondering around in the small hours of the day all by ourselves and no one else is like travelling back to hundreds of years right in medieval times. Truly an experience of a lifetime. Its a must and I highly recommend it !
Situated in the Mont Saint Michel Bay, between Normandy and Brittany, the hotel welcomes you in a peaceful and lovely countryside setting.

Wonderful foods:Lamb, fish and crustaceans, cheeses
The facilities are brand new. Comfortable. Rooms have enough space and high ceilings. There’s incredible garden as part of the property. I could not imagine that such lovely and beautiful garden could be within private village house. We loved tables and chairs outside, where one could enjoy scenery around. VIEW to Mont St Michele on the horizon is magnificent.
Lovely breakfast with homemade products. I wish this hotel does not spoil in the future and would provide services at this high level as now. Thank you for the stay!
Location, breakfast, owner, other clients, the view, all added up for a wonderful stay.
Don't waste your time with the "official" hotels, this is much nicer. Only 5 minutes walk from the shuttle that takes you to Mt Saint Michel. Veronique had great tips to visit the mount and for local eating (when we didn't follow her advise, the food was mediocre, but then we got wise and did everything she told us!. Thank you Veronique!). She even lent us rainwear for us to explore the mount dry!
The apartment can be better described as hotel room with shared kitchen/dinning room and private bathroom.
Kitchen/dinning room is for guests use only (not shared with the host).
Room is of average size with spacious bathroom. Everything was clean and tidy.
We took a ground floor room with terrace which was nice.
Breakfast was average but good enough to start a day. Coffee/tea was available throughout the day.
Considering location car is a must. Free parking available on site.
The location was perfect, both ladies at the front desk were polite and attentive, and the restaurant was tasty. We especially appreciated being able to park in the free lot a few hours before checking in; very convenient. There was a whole flock of sheep that crossed directly in front of the hotel in the morning and at night. Watching them was fun and definitely rounded out our experience.
This B&B is excellent. It is very clean. Our room was spacious. The sourroundings are absolutely quiet, wonderful to relax! And the owner really cares for the details. Everything looked new. Real lavender is used as room scent. Not one speck of dust nor any sign of wear and tear. Many 5-star hotels don't have what Au p'tit mont can offer. Keep it up!
Clean hotel, walking distance to Mont St Michel about 15-20 minutes and very good selections for breakfast including option of cooking your own soft boil eggs! Hotel allows you to leave a car in their parking lot even after the check-out.
Good spot to see Mont St.Michel. Don't t miss the sheeps going to their pasture next to the hotel.
Thank you.
The place is amazingly well located and so convenient..
The direct walk to Mont Saint-Michel is a bit adventurous through the cheptel, but a way better than walking to the free shuttle service, which is also an option.
The staff is very welcoming and nice.
The view of Mont Saint-Michel close to the hotel is breathtaking.
Véronique was so lovely and accommodating - she loves having people stay at Au Ptit Mont and it shows in her hospitality and cooking. My friend and I loved staying here and getting to know her and the area. It is perfectly located, far enough away where you don't feel like a tourist staying at a big hotel!
Friendly staff, restaurant with outdoor terrace on site, great location with view towards Mont St Michel. Park at the hotel rather than the 15 Euro parking for the shuttle to Mont St Michel. Can walk to Mont St Michel from the hotel.
The hotel is located neaby Saint Michel castle, the room is very simple, but quite and nice. near the hotel are small sheep farms, that you can hear at nights/ at the morning sheep are led out to pasture along the street
the view across the street is Mont St Michel! we were in our room in the evening when literally hundreds of sheep went through the road between the hotel. it was something very special! the location is great!
The location is wonderful! I wish to spend more time here. Rooms and all territory are very good. Breakfast is tasty and elegant. Breakfast served by hotel owner, she is very nice and friendly.
The location for this hotel was great. You are definitely out in nature. The sheep were amazing to see, a little less amazing to smell. The hotel was perfect for our needs.
excellent location away from the dense hotel district, excellent location to walk 5 minutes to the salt flats and have breathtaking views of saint Michel at sunset
Location, location!!! Very close to mont Saint Michel. Also the hotel is adorable, you have an incredible home feeling and Veronique is such a great hostess.
Hotel was nice. Staff was friendly. I had 2 rooms and they were next to eachother. View was nice of Mont Saint Michel. Breakfast was nice and fresh as well.
