They have a market a few days a week and all day on Saturday. The town is very lively on Saturday as well. The restaurants were excellent but make sure you are seated an ordering by 9. The kitchens close. Bring good walking shoes the streets are beautiful and cobble stone. Rivens was a Michelin Star restaurant that you should not miss. For the better restaurants, I highly recommend reservations. The town was very easy to navigate and had really great shopping. Make sure you buy the milled soap!

Pristine lake - well worth a boat tour.
Pristine lake - well worth a boat tour. Take the longer trip, not the 30 minutes. We also cycled the lake which is good for active people, especially for a close up view of what you see from the boat. Less fit people might prefer an e-bike. Bon Pain Bon Vin is a great restaurant for food, although service might not meet expectations for those looking for prompt and efficient attention. It’s worth it for the food and atmosphere. Market days are great for getting fresh high quality local produce. Three days is probably a minimum for getting a good feel for the town.

We mainly explored the old town and chilled near the beautiful lake. We also went for a hike nearby.
The old town has really nice restaurants. Ideally it's better to reserve before going for the restaurants to have Fondue/Raclette.
It's easy to get around Annecy by hiring a bike or taking the public bus. However one should be careful about the timings if you want to visit nearby places from Annecy. The buses are not so frequent.

The place is the perfect combination of nature and culture.
The place is the perfect combination of nature and culture. Compact and yet full of little surprises, Annecy is a charming French city that should be in every traveller’s bucket list. Plenty of excellent dining options, the majestic Alps before you, the Lake and the river around which the place weaves its spell. Late March, early April werent as packed with tourists as summer, so the pace is less harried. Prices, too, both for food and accommodation are very affordable. Three restaurants we tried : Cozna, Saba and Le Bouillon, all Michellin recommended - provided excellent food and service.

Beautiful old city.
Beautiful old city.
Gorgeous views of a pristine, clear lake.
Old town area was lovely and the Sunday market seemed really authentic.
Have a trip on the boat to admire the substantial houses dotted along the shoreline, enjoy an ice cream and take lots of pics.
There is a good bus service if you want to go further afield. We visited Talloires Montmin on the other side of the lake by car but I noticed it is on a bus route too.

Maximum charm in a small footprint: the Old Town is pedestrian-only, small streets that wind around and across the river, farmers markets, cutesy shops, plenty of cheese-y dinners... the place is a picture-postcard for France.
Huge apartment overlooking main bridge in Annecy with views over canal to the lake and private roof terrace off the bedroom with views towards the old town and the castle. Apartment is on 3 levels, and is accessed by its own private lift, and has A/C, bath, shower and sauna and 2 toilets. Fantastic host provided lots of info before arrival, very easy checkin and out, and available for any questions. Parking at the underground Hotel de Ville car park is a 5 minute walk.
The apartment is settled in a quiet residential neighbourhood next to the old town (6-7 min walking distance). Across the street is a new shopping mall with the Gallery Lafayette, and 150 m farther is a lake. Excellent sleeping quality (madrassas, window blinds...). A true second home in Annecy with a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, dishwasher... Spotless. Easy communication with the owner Christian. I would and will definitely stay here again.
Apartment - this apartment has high-spec facilities, including a very comfortable balcony with great mountain views. Location - the apartment has a range of great quality local shops right on it's doorstep, is only a 10 minute walk from the lake and is an easy stroll to reach the old town of Annecy. It's also very easy for taking day trips further afield to Chamonix etc.
Hosts - the hosts were very attentive - thank you for looking after me :)
I very much enjoyed my stay here in a very comfortable and nicely-decorated room. The hotel was about a 1 minute walk from the train (helpful with my luggage!) and <10 minutes walk to the lake and old town areas. Shopping and restaurants surround the hotel. Staff were quite courteous and allowed me to store luggage outside of my check-in time. The room was clean and really comfortable and pleasant to be in after a day of vigorous exercise.
Maria, the receptionist was terrific. She gave great restaurant recommendations and provided great info on a wonderful day trip to Chamonix which was a highlight of our trip to France. The gondola auguille di MIDI put us above the clouds and views were amazing . Annecy was a great home base to see French Alps and the town of Annecy is like the Venice of the Alps
Best location in Annecy old town, overlooking the most prominent landmarks and the canal. The view from the little balcony is unrivalled! Loved the classic French decor of antique furniture and art in the rooms. The staff consisting of the family who run the hotel were very friendly and helpful; Joel especially had the warmest smile.
Old building in the centre of the old town, perfect location and good amount of space for 4 adults. Pool table a bonus to pass time. The bathroom was beautifully renovated, which is great in such an old building like this. The apartment felt old-world of Annecy charm, a great place.
Excellent breakfast. Room adequate for a short stay if a little bare. Decent position to reach the old town on foot, approximately 15 minutes walk. Relatively easy parking in front of the Hotel (free) if not, secured, reachable on foot in 5 minutes and reimbursed by hotel.
The location is excellent. Close to bus and rail links, but only 5 minutes walk to the old town of Annecy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good (non-tourist) restaurants nearby: Bloomer and Ingalls. Good breakfasts. Very comfortable beds (important for us old people).
The location was as short walk to the main train station and Petite France. check in was smooth. The place was spacious, new, clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. The very best in Europe, out of 7 countries we’ve traveled to.
few meters from the lake and next to the old city, the location can’t be any better
better than 5 star hotel when it come to cleaning.
water, towels, shampoo, any small gift for the kids
The location fabelous in the hart of the old town of Annecy. Breakfast complete and delicious. Friendly personel. From the hotel you can walk through all Annecy, very central.
The location of the hotel is excellent. In the heart of everything. Close to the old town and the central station.
The hotel was clean and tidy, the stuff was wonderful!
Le Splendid Hotel Lac D'Annecy is perfectly located for guests to enjoy the perks of the lake, old town, and the various restaurants that dot the area.
