The setting, hotel, facilities and staff are delightful. Staff are so helpful and make you feel you are staying at a very nice house as a guest rather than a hotel. The food in the restaurant is also delicious and good value for money for a fine dining experience. We would definitely come back.

Amboise was our favourite stop. Although it was touristy it was not overcrowded. We loved the feel of the city and the lovely old streets and buildings including the castle. The scenery around Amboise was lovely and the people seemed friendly. Our children loved Chateau d'Usse, the Sleeping Beauty castle.

We come to Amboise every year.
We come to Amboise every year. It is a good base for exploring the Loire, being situated between Blois and Tours. There are many chateaux in the area, Chenonceaux, Chaumont, and not forgetting Amboise. Amboise has a good market on a Sunday along the banks of the Loire.
There are lots of vineyards and caves surrounding Amboise. We went wine and food matching on this last trip at caves ambacia. Also some good restaurants - la brèche for a special occasion if you can get in.
Our children have enjoyed the Clos de Luca, the mini parc de Chateau, and the nearby Aquarium de Touraine, always good for a rainy day.
It's possible to take boat trips on the Loire (Vouvray), and the Cher (near Montrichard)
Amboise is very walkable and easy to get around. If travelling by car, parking is near to the centre of town. The train station is situated on the opposite bank of the Loire.
Go visit it's a beautiful town. A place close to our hearts.

We loved Amboise, very easy to walk anywhere you want to go. The restaurants are all welcoming, The food was excellent. But remember you are in the country side everything stops serving at 8:00 pm, you are not in Paris. We rented a car it is the easiest way to see the surrounding area.

Amboise is absolutely charming!
Amboise is absolutely charming! Chateau Amboise is one of my favorites and Clos Luce is a must as Leonardo da Vinci's last home. I was there in February for only 2 nights, so unfortunately, the Garage de l'Art was closed. However, I did meet Fernand Martin-Dumagny, the owner and artist, across the street at the brewery. Everyone was very kind and hospitable; I really wish I had more time to enjoy this lovely town!

If you want to be surrounded by Americans when you are in a foreign country then Amboise is the place for you. On the positive side, my traveling companion became ill while we were in Amboise, and I felt perfectly comfortable going out in the evening by myself. In a larger city, that might not have been th case. Similarly, it was easy to get in and out of Amboise to see many other sites in the Loire Valley

If you are considering a trip to the Loire Valley, we recommend Amboise as the hub. Why? It's a charming village right on the Loire River with it's own chateau right in the town. Much smaller than Tours, close to the rail line, affordable and attractive hotels and B&Bs, and close to premier chateaux such as Chenonceau and Chambord. Lots of restaurants and cute shops.
Beautiful accomodation in Amboise. Very well appointed rooms. Great location close to many fabulous restaurants and easy walking distance to the Chateau. Staff were most helpful and we enjoyed both a dinner and breakfast in the hotel. Lovely having an appertif in the garden on our return each day. Would highly recommend.
The beds were very comfortable and the towels were good quality. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a lift to reach the room which was on the second floor. The hotel is close to Amboise which a beautiful small town with a selection of restaurants. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit Chateaux Amboise.
Hotel La Blason exudes character, its location is great and slightly away from the touristy bits of Amboise, but certainly close enough. Excellent secure parking for our motorbikes and space in front of the Hotel to park too. It will be my hotel of choice in Amboise.
Brand new hotel! Ideal location for visiting Amboise. A stone's throw from the castel, shops and the district where there are many restaurants! We highly recommend!
