Lusis Homestay, hotel in Kuata

Providing sea views, Lusis Homestay in Lautoka provides accommodation, a garden and a bar. Free WiFi is included throughout the property. The units in the homestay are equipped with a flat-screen TV.

It was in a beautiful location, I done lots of amazing activities while staying (snorkelling with reef sharks/ school visit/ hike up the mountain) The whole village seemed to welcome me. Please remember this is a homestay in a very small village with limited supplies, it wasn’t a bad thing but be prepared for bucket washes, not much privacy (you are in a homestay after all) and the home life of a family living on an island. I felt very safe as a solo traveler!

Theres no words to explain how amazing this trip was we knew it would be beautiful but the people made it for us it was hard to leave they felt like family by the end of 10 days. we got lucky enough to see manta rays just as the season kicked in and really enjoyed meeting guests from all over the world that we connected with. The food was incredible you must try the japanese tapas for lunch and restaurant for dinner it truly was incredible to see the staff cook and the way they present the food. we ate fresh yellow fin tuna that we caught deep sea fishing the kitchen cooked it up for us and we had it for lunch and dinner. Again the people we met who worked at the resort really made this trip so THANKYOU they all work so hard but also just the kindest people that really care for you while you are on a trip of a life time. we will be back BULA! Barefoot Manta Island Resort, hotel in Kuata

Located in the secluded Yasawa Islands, the eco-friendly Barefoot Manta Island Resort Resort is ideally situated for swimming, diving and snorkeling, as all bungalows are set on the beach.

The reefs around the resort are fantastic. You literally just have to enter the water to get to this very healthy patch of reef, abundant with life. It is also extremely convenient if you want to snorkel with the mantas, as the resort is located right in front of the channel where they can be found. The staff is super friendly and very attentive.

Mantaray is a must! The staff are beyond friendly. Every single one of them. Mika looked after us, he is exceptional at his role. Mika also brought us to the Manta Rays and sang songs at dinner. This is a lovely island, with lots of friendly and helpful staff. I had my own little house that was super clean, but you can also rent bunkbed tents. The food is excellent With live entertainment during meals. You do have to buy the extra meal package as there is nothing else on the island except this little tourist village. I think it’s best suited for those who want to dive and/or snorkel and there are lots of organized trips you can go on, or you can snorkel on your own. If you want to just lie on the beach, this isn’t really the place for you. I had a wonderful time and met some great people. Thank you Barefoot Quata :)

Snorkelling from the back beach around to the front beach...

Snorkelling from the back beach around to the front beach was fantastic. Unfortunately accommodation (tent on beachfront) was very old with missing tabs on all of the window flaps (some missing completely) and activities in package very limited (eg snorkel gear had to be returned by 4pm each day!) Definitely not value for money.
