Spoiled. Totally spoiled by Blu Galapagos. Everything was over the top perfection. The hotel is on the waterfront near the Charles Darwin Research Center and just enough on the edge of town that you feel isolated yet still within a five minute walk to the heart of this sweet port town. We stayed in the Darwin Suite which is primo for celebrating a loved one or yourself. I’ll be back for sure.

Hotel staff were friendly and very accommodating. Every evening they will ask you what time your excursions start, hot breakfast is served after 630am but if you are leaving for an excursion around that time they will make sure to have a boxed breakfast ready for you. Claudia, Carolina, and Jose were so wonderful and knowledgeable about the area. Carolina has the best restaurant recommendations!

Puerto Ayora is a place where you can enjoy the nature and have the facilities of touristic places like different restaurants, bars, etc. Unfortunately, because of those facilities the fauna has gone to other islands like San Cristobal so that is a downside, but if you go with family it is a great place to get a screenshot of what Galapagos is.

A small but beautiful city.
A small but beautiful city. It was a fishing village but has been transformed to a tourist town. The main street -- Ave. Charles Darwin, is full of life, literally -- sea lions, iguanas, pelicans, etc. It's an adventure like no other.

It's a nice, friendly town.
It's a nice, friendly town. It's got plenty of ATMS, several grocery stores, and a lovely oceanfront walk. The fish market is a must see in the morning. There are sea lions who hang around waiting for scraps. I also saw iguanas and pelicans waiting for handouts. There's very nice bars, restaurants, and market stalls. It's a little spendy, because you're on an island. There's things you can do for free, on your own. There's also TONS of tour companies running day trips to all the nearby islands. You can walk most anywhere, and there are cheap taxis as well.

The touristy part and the harbor to the Darwin research...
The touristy part and the harbor to the Darwin research center was full of shops, restaurants both cheap and expensive, street food, and travel agencies. People are friendly and it’s clean and safe.
Los Kiosko is an intense street where people are coming at you with menus trying to get you come to them - at the same time. But they have specials for $5 lunch or dinner plus a regular menu with cheap meals too. Great Ecuadorian food! We ate ice cream everyday! There was a little froyo place on Baltra and a gelato place down the same street closer to the harbor that was excellent. We found pan de yucca at a street food vendor that was magical, though not always open.
Sea lions are everywhere near the water (not in the same capacity as San Cristobal but still).
You can watch blue footed boobies diving into the water all the time and the frigits are out in mass as well!
Everyone is happy.
Also we found our favorite travel agency with the Galapagos Living Travel Agency. They were fair priced and hilarious. Lots of laughs and planning of epic next day adventures.
- very friendly staff; the owner and her daughter was not only friendly, on top of that she asked us every morning about our plans for the day and gave us a lot of helpful information
After seeing my sunburn, she has given me a very useful Aloe-Vera-Gel for free and because of the fact, that we've had to check-out early before breakfast because of our ferry, she has given us a breakfast to go. That's great service!
- great room
- the WLAN is not perfect, but compared with other hotels at the Galapagos Islands, it is quite good
i really would recommend staying here when you go to puerto ayora.
i stayed here for a couple of nights and had a good time. nice kitchen, rooms and bathrooms are clean.
most important of all is the staff and owner however, i had a problem with my bank and could not get any money which was kinda stressful, but the staff and owner helped me in a great way. thanks for the everything and i will be back!
you can also book daytours and ferries with the owner at good prices.
The bed was comfy and the kitchen had a good assortment of utensils. The skillet was the best we have had in all of south america. The room is nice and the AC (if needed) will keep you comfortable.Bellavista is very walkable and it is reasonable to ride the bus into the larger Puerto Ayora for ~.50-$1. Food and a grocery store are 2 minutes away. If you are tired of the beach or just want to explore the highlands area this is a good place to stay.
The hotel itself was cool and quirky, the main reason why I booked this place. I believe all rooms are individually decorated which is a nice touch. The location of the hotel is quiet but close enough to the fish market and a few restaurants, no where in puerto ayora is difficult to get to by walking it's only a small town.
The shower was hot once the tap had been run and I'd say that the WiFi was 'Decent' compared to other hotels on the island.
Excellent location just back from the trip and inter-island ferry piers, easy access into the main restaurant areas and sea frontage. This was an excellent little hotel whose facilities allowed for added enjoyment during our stay on the island. Nice pool area (smaller than some of the photos show but very enjoyable as the weather was hot and humid at times. Pleasant bar abd breakfast staff who were happy to assist.
the place is amazingly exceptional, the staff is very courteous and friendly, great costumer service, breakfast great, enough, room always clean, generally speaking feel like home in there, wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place.
Is a bit far from Puerto Ayora, but worth it, taxi cost only $ 1,50.
Safe hotel, safe place, amazing.
My sincere thanks for the staff, keep up the good work!!!!!!!
Best value for money by far in Puerto Ayora! It's all new and fresh, very clean and very safe. Hot water, room is cleaned daily, shampoo provided. The kitchen was amazing, very well equipped and free drinking water too. The location for us was perfect, being backpackers and on a budget meant that we saw more of the cheaper places to eat than there are in the town.
The hotel was very clean and located in a central area. Also , we left in mornings for tours very early and Elizabeth woke up extra early to make a wonderful breakfast. She helped with tours, even took us on one , and showed us fantastic hospitality by taking us to an authentic ecuadorian restaurant for dinner. She make the trip so much better!
This hotel is incredible: the location, the organization, the breakfasts. If you want a real treat, this is it. Their tour guide was maybe my favourite part. Finch Bay also did their utmost to help organize our trip back from Isabela Island to mainland Ecuador. I mean, it's very expensive, so you pay for it, but it was a really nice treat.
Second floor apartment located across from the ferry dock in Puerto Ayora. Good value for family of 4. Excellent location with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Modern apartment is large and quiet with a functional kitchen, living area and large bedroom with 2 queens. Plenty of closet space, Wifi worked fine, A/C in bedroom.
The hotel is located at the outskirts of Puerto Ayora. There are really nice views from the room. There are bikes provided by the hotel to drive around the port. The hotel personnel was very friendly and helped with tours / transports. The restaurant of the hotel provides excellent food (not included).
Very limited choices, same every day
Out of 5 nights we stayed there 3 mornings didn’t have avocado on the side.
You would think it’s not such a difficult request considering you are in Ecuador
Definitely not compatible with the price you are paying for the hotel.
The team who runs this hotel is so friendly and accommodating! They really made me feel welcomed both times I stayed with them and provided lots of help in making transportation plans!
The hammock in the bedroom was a lovely little perk!
Mercedes is a very very nice host and very attentive. For my stay I felt a bit at home, I liked the beautiful place a lot, also because not being in the center of Puerto Ayora. The patio is great for reading outside even when raining.
They were very nice and helpful! the location is great for walking around puerto ayora. We appreciated that we were able to get early breakfast before our ferry to isabela island, and the room was comfortable.
La Fortaleza is an awesome stay for when you're in Puerto Ayora. Gianna was so welcoming and showed us all the top spots to see! Breakfast was awesome and the hotel itself is the most unique I've ever seen.
Very clean, looks nicer than average budget hostels in Ecuador, friendly staff, good location - 10 mins to the harbour, but also in a neighbourhood with comedores to eat more cheaply
