I cycled along the river Elbe, and took lots of photos of the city.
The weather was good, with sun shine and blue sky, so the view was perfect.
I suggest people can walk/cycle along the river, from Cathedral to Jahrtausendturm, just be enjoy the cozy.
The Cathedral has a total different view b/w days and nights, so go there twice!

Magdeburg is a lovely city but there isn't too much to do/see there.
You might want to visit for a day or two but it's not too spectacular.
If you get there visit the Hundertwasserhaus.

Interesting city.
Interesting city. Clean with nice places to eat - especially pan asian. Seems incredibly quiet and almost like two extra floors were built on every buiding that weren't needed. Still, a nice clean place with green spaces. The whole city's walkable. If you want a lively area, this is definitely not for you.

Very beautiful and historic city. It was especially beautifully decorated for the Christmas season and had an amazing Christmas market! Very goood restaurants, hotels, shopping and easy to navigate with the trams and buses. I’lll be back!

Interesting mixture of the old and new. The Stadtpark was a good contrast and a great view of the city from the top of the Albin-Müller-Turm. Easy to eat out. Slightly disappointed by the "number 1 attraction", the Grünen Zitadelle. Would have liked to take the tour, but it was only available in German so decided it was too expensive.
Perfect hotel for the night during the long-range trips. The location is nearby to the motorway, easy to find. Ask for a quiet room at the backside because of the noisy road at the front. We requested a double room with one big bed, but received a room with 2 separate beds. The beds were fine, room spacious. We didn't take breakfast, only coffee which was not tasty, and the price was Eur 5 for two persons. There is no minibar in the rooms, but you can buy cooled drinks at the reception.
Residenz Joop is located in a beautiful villa area, at walking distance from the center of Magdeburg. We were travelling with our dog and made a pre-arrangement with the hotel to take our four-legged friend with us, which was absolutely no problem. Public parking in the streets near the hotel was generally not a problem (however, don´t forget the mandatory green badge for the applicable low emission zone). We would highly recommend Residenz Joop for a stay in Magdeburg.
Sabrina, the owner, is a pure joy to come across. The passion and care she puts into running this family hotel are astonishing and her smile is contageous. The hotel is extremely well maintained, clean, has a lovely garden, and offers tasty breakfast. Room size was rather large for a single room with two windows, and there was a mini fridge. Sabrina also lent me a water heater. The location is good too, about 25 minutes walk from the main train station.
The property is very clean, and it has excellent cooking tools. The supermarket is nearby the apartment, so it is easy for customers to by some food. It is close to the university of Magdeburg, so it is convenient for me to go to the university to attend the conference. It could be better that the entrance door of the apartment might be changed as the door without glasses, that would improve the safety and privacy. Anyway, it is a nice apartment.
Everything about the hotel is perfect; the location, the facilities and the breakfast. In addition, the staff is totally professional and extremely courteous. I would like to mention that Frau Cindy Thomas is extremely efficient and very helpful. I am waiting to visit this hotel in my next trip to Magdeburg.
Location was good, breakfast ok, we had room for 4 people - 2 kids and 2 adults, it was big enough and comfortable. We spent time in swimming pool - we were the only. It was great. Hotel provided us with Bathrobes and slippers- but you had to ask for them.
Great place to stay in a nice neighbourhood, very close to the Magdeburg-Buckau train station, and a short walk away from the park and the Elbe, 25 min walk to the Hundertwasser center. Big room, a place to park, and kitchens available for guests.
The staff was friendly. The room was clean and spacious. We also used the underground parking of the hotel - a great option and worth the money. The breakfast had different options and a great choice of food. I definitely recommend.
Location was great, we had a family room / apartment which was very beautiful and included a very well equipped kitchen (which we didn't use, but it was nevertheless impressive), nice view from the balcony.
This branch of Intercity Hotel has Smart TV compared to the Branch near Berlin hbf 😅. Room is spacious. Fast Wifi. Aircondition functions well. The small Refrigerator also functions well. 👍
