Breakfast was fantastic ! The proximity to the nature outside is phenomenal and juxtaposes the hostel bathroom situation.
On the ground floor of our hotel you will find our newly designed sauna area, the Alpen Sauna. A classic Finnish sauna with approx. 85 °C and a bio sauna with approx.

Clean and comfortable room with my own balcony and a great view of the lake and mountains, very spacious room with table, chair and TV and a wardrobe. Bed was very comfortable and the shower was nice and hot. Breakfast in the mornings was plentiful, hot and cold food, scrambled eggs, bacon, selection of breads and selection of meats, cheeses, yoghurts and fruit, fresh coffee served at your table. Restaurant had a good selection of traditional dishes, good service and all with a lake and mountain view. Parking for motorcycle and cars, motorcycle parked under cover.
Best feature of the hotel was the food in the restaurant.
Best feature of the hotel was the food in the restaurant. The quality was up there with the best.
Breakfast needed to be less expensive. Had it been €13 -15, we would had eaten there.
Lovely courtyard attached to the restaurant for warm evenings.
Lack of atmosphere in the main hotel. Bar not open or being used. Such a beautiful building and it was a shame not to be able to enjoy it to the full.
Poor storage in the newer bedrooms.
Wonderful, welcoming staff who were very helpful.

There's lots to do in the area, walking & hiking, mountain climbing, cycling, swimming in the surrounding lakes, rowing & canoing, going to spas, visiting castles (Neuschwanstein, but also many other, smaller ones which are less busy), using climbing centres. You need a car to benefit most of the stay.

Not a lot in Hopferau itself but 2 minutes down the road in Hopfensee is a lovely lakeside village with lots of restaurants and lake swimming and boating. You can also hire bikes And group buggy and go around the Lake which takes about 1 hour. Beautiful setting and play parks along the lakeside as well an mini golf and an outdoor music theatre set up.
The restaurant at the hotel was very good. The food was extremely well cooked with high quality produce and great service. We ate in the beautiful courtyard. Cleanliness was good throughout the hotel.
The building was impressive and it would have been nice to sit in the bar for a cocktail or aperitif. However, it wasn’t staffed and a lot of the hotel communal rooms remained unused, presumably because of the pandemic. This was a shame and detracted from the experience.
Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful.
We had a very good dinner at the restaurant of the hotel. Food was local and recipes traditional. Overall it was good value for a good price. It was wintertime when we were there and the whole landscape around the castle was completely covered in ice and snow creating a special atmosphere. The bed was comfortable and the room had a nice view. On the second floor, it was possible to appreciate an exhibition area with traditional pieces of furniture and decorations.
What a wonderful surprise this hotel is. We found it at random and could not be happier about the choice, from clean, comfortable rooms, helpfull and kind staff to their fantastic restaurant and beer garden.
This is a beautiful hotel with great staff and excellent food. A wonderful choice for discovering Bavaria. Just a 15 minute drive to the main castles. Thoroughly recommend.
The team is very polite and friendly, the place is especially beautiful, the restaurant in the hotel is very good. We had a great stay and definitely recommend this place !
Everything was great. Beautiful view from my room. Service was super, staff is very friendly and helpful. Its near from city Füssen, bus stop is in front of hotel.
