Due to the detour, it was difficult to find the way to the hotel by car, although the instructions were clear, the hotel is in the center. The hotel restaurant is only open until 8 p.m. There are restaurants around, but unfortunately they only serve food until 8 p.m. We found a pizzeria where we could have dinner at 9 p.m.

Really beautiful little town.
Really beautiful little town. Lots of interesting shops, great restaurants and very tempting pastries. The town is overlooked by the Alps affording spectacular views but there are also riverside walks and quaint streets to explore plus a Franciscan monastery and a castle. Plus Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein castles are a short bus ride or taxi ride away.

Wonderful, peaceful little town, perfect for those who love...
Wonderful, peaceful little town, perfect for those who love hiking and nature. There is an awesome reptile zoo nearby too, worth seeing. The people smile and say "hello" to strangers on the street and everyone decorates their houses almost as if it's some contest to make their property cutest. In spring the whole area is drowning in flowers blooming and sounds of birdsong.

It's beautiful, at the foot of the mountains. The downtown area is quaint and offers a wide array of shopping options that range from inexpensive to custom/higher end items. Many eateries and bakeries to choose from, with cuisine from all over the world. The town is not large, but has every feature we wanted. The local parks are amazing if you're traveling with kids! They had scooter paths, basketball, bike tracks, everything! The hiking trailheads can be found within walking distance from town and are lovely. It's only a 4 minute drive to Neuschwanstein Castle and makes getting there easy.

Make sure you receive a "Fussen Card" with your...
Make sure you receive a "Fussen Card" with your accommodation. Allow a full day to do the castles and make sure you are there for the morning (8 am )tickets so you can beat the bus loads of other tourists. Food from restaurants is expensive and parking for the day is 10 euro. Catch the bus for 3 euro and save your legs.

Fussen was amazing. Super cute and lovely. Train station makes for easy travelling. People were very friendly and we loved how close it was to Neuschwanstein and quirky things such as a tree top walk to cross the border to Austria.
Great hotel! The rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast had many choices and was an affordable add on, and my husband said the sauna was one of the best he has tried. Very convenient to have an underground parking garage and easy walk to the center of Füssen. Super close to Neuschwanstein and we loved the castle decorations throughout the hotel. We brought our dog and had a great stay - especially enjoyed dinner and cocktails on the outdoor terrace. Highly recommend!
We had a wonderful one night stay at Maurushaus.The owner was very helpful and informative about Füssen and the surrounding area. Great location close to dining, coffee, groceries and shopping. Also close to many historic sites and activities. While the building is extremely old and has its quirks it is kept very clean. Breakfast was traditional and lots of it! We were encouraged to pack a bag lunch from the breakfast buffet...what a nice bonus! Thank you!
We have been traveling Europe for 6 weeks, and this hotel is the best one we have encountered. From check-in to the super clean and comfortable double room to the expansive breakfast - WOW! All staff members were considerate and kind and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. And the location could not be beat!

This is a proper traditional German hotel with a proper traditional German restaurant. Everything is very clean and really practical. The restaurant is very good, so I didn't need to think where I should go for dinner.
My room had a balcony with fantastic view. I'm pretty sure that when I visit Füssen next time this will be the first hotel I will look for.
The hotel is centrally located, making it very convenient for a stay in Füssen. They have upgraded the facility to have modern conveniences but have kept it charming and classy with unique furnishings and antiques throughout.
The staff was courteous and accommodating, even extending our stay in the same room for us when we decided to stay an extra night.

A most comfortable room with a beautifully served breakfast. Situated in the centre of Fussen, it was only a 3-4 minute walk to the town centre of thi fascinating town, which again, has so much to offer. We were able to park right outside the hotel main entrance which was a bonus.
