Fabulous hotel, great for kids and families. Absolutely beautiful meal at the restaurant with staff that went that extra mile both at reception and in the restaurant. Pool for kids was very good and larger pool and spa also great. Loved that there was an adults only pool and part of the sauna/spa that way as a family, we could use the facilities and not feel like we were detracting from singles or couples experience as they could use the adult facilities.

At the foot of Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is one of the country’s top ski resorts. The Bavarian style of its Alpine chalets includes beautiful flowers lining every balcony, and colourful frescoes adorning the outsides of houses.
The varied skiing and snowboarding in the surrounding Alps is based mainly on blue and red runs. To ski on the Zugspitze glacier you take a train up to the mountain then a cable car down to the slopes. The summit itself offers magnificent views of the valleys below, provided you’re lucky enough to get a break in the clouds.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a former host of the Winter Olympics and the World Alpine Ski Championships. It also has a ski jump that forms part of the world cup of that sport. In summer hiking is the most popular activity and a lengthy route leads up to King’s House on Schachen, a supposed castle that looks more like a house.
It was built for Ludwig II, the eccentric king behind the region’s most impressive castle – Neuschwanstein to the north-west of Garmisch. The road between them passes by Oberammergau, famous for its 10-yearly Passion Plays.

Great town to explore the area from! The two main streets (one for Garmisch and the other for Partenkirchen) are sweet and nice to walk around. The town is centrally located to tour the area, it can be done with public transportation, but using a car is much better. We spent 4 days in the area, and could have easily spent much more.

We were in town for the trail running event ZUT.
We were in town for the trail running event ZUT. The inner city of Garmisch is very lively and has plenty of stores and restaurants. Around the city you can go to many different hiking / nature areas. You can use the buses and trains to get access to the main hiking trails or city center. For car access everything is perfectly doable as well although parking is a bit more expensive.

This is our third trip to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and we still love it. The Mountain views are incredible! We like the area, because of its central location. It’s a good launching pad for Neuschwanstein Castle, the Zugspitze, and the Biergarten Alpenblick in Uffing. The town is quaint, yet lively! Many restaurants have live music, and one evening there was a really good street band making their way up and down Ludwigstraße. It’s a beautiful little town!

The town was very pleasant, clean, and had many local shops with handmade products. The whole town shut down at 9pm except a bar so do not expect to find any late night brauhaus or restaurants. I would recommend visiting the town during the winter season for outdoor scenery and activites.

I highly recommend this accommodation. Located on a beautiful main street, the rooms are classic and comfortable. I shared bathroom (which was very clean and in good condition) but there was a little sink in the room which I found quite convenient. The staff is wonderful, attentive and friendly. The hotel has a classic german restaurant just downstairs which is quite convenient. The breakfast is exceptional! On my last day, they prepared a lunch-box for me because I had to leave before breakfast time. Great experience, I'll be back!
The apartment had the most amazing view of the Zugspitze from the balcony and the area it was in could not have been better. The town centre/supermarket was a 10 minute walk and station 20, and it was peaceful. The accommodations itself was well kitted out and comfortable, we had everything we could have needed and for an exceptional price.
Although the room isn’t enormous, the beds can be tucked away into the wall if you want more space during the day!
Due to a booking system error, the hotel didn't have any double room that we booked when we arrived. The receptionist was very helpful and gave us a much larger room as a replacement, together with some food for the next morning as we told him that we would be checking out before breakfast time. The room was spacious and comfortable.
We had the most amazing trip around the area of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, besides the luck of a great weather, another great thing was our accommodation in Hotel & Gasthof Fraundorfer. We had a family room which exceeded our expectations I.e. there were 2 bedrooms, a balcony and a kitchenette, allowing us to cook some meals ourselves.
I had a wonderful stay in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Gästehaus Brigitte. I think it's a great accommodation for those who want to hike and visit nearby towns and nature spots (very good location). The view from my balcony was worth a million euros. If I visit Garmisch-Partenkirchen next time I will certainly book the same place.
Very friendly and compassionate staff. Was sick for most of my stay, so I got to have a lovely look at the accomodation! All was fairly new and properly stocked. Great spot in the city (next to the train station and in the center of Garmisch-Partenkirchen). And thankfully there was a nice coffee machine!!
This modern hostel has all the amenities of most hotels. An excellent fully stocked breakfast, sauna and fitness room. It comes complete with a view of the mountains and spacious family rooms. Its close to the train station, but you can't hear the trains in the rooms or in their outside dining patio.
- fantastic location: Mountain Views from the bedroom, easy walk around the town to restaurants / beer gardens / shops
- convenient location to Eibsee/ Zugspitze
- very helpful and kind staff
- great beer garden/ restaurant attached to the hotel that attracts many visitors (not just hotel guests).
Everything from the staff, the warm welcome, the atmosphere and historic charm, the bar, the breakfast. It is the best hotel I have ever stayed in and exceeded my expectations! We only were able to stay for 1 night because of time constraints but will absolutely be back for another longer visit!
We booked the Atlas Sport hotel but it was closed so they transferred us to Atlas Grand Hotel located in the centre of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Super nice staff, comfortable beds, attentive to our needs as we arrived late after getting a lot of rain and still got us late night dinner!
Super location, very quiet, and great top floor apartment with wonderful mountain views.
This was perfect for myself and two friends, with plenty of space (two bedrooms, and the sofa-bed).
It was an excellent base for hiking in the stunning mountains around Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
If you want a more authentic experience than "tourist," stay here. This quaint old hotel is run by a family still. The food is great and they have live music. the junior suite was roomy with view of Alps and a big balcony. It is ob the Partenkirchen side of Garmisch.
Our room price included a five-course dinner in the hotel restaurant. The quality of the kitchen exceeded our expectations. Excellent dinner, friendly staff who noted the birthday of my wife, good value for money. Our room was recently renovated. Nice experience!
This room is located in the city center of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. View from the top-most floor was nice. The apartment was cozy enough to stay. It also had good kitchen facilities to cook our own food.
Everything is brand new, the house is very nice and cosy. The location is very convenient. 1 min walk to supermarket. 5 mins drive to Garmisch-Partenkirchen train station.
Very friendly staff and nice breakfast.the hotel is located somewhere close to all points of interest in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Very reasonable prices for the rooms also.
The location on the outskirts of Garmisch-Partenkirchen was perfect for a family gathering. The views were stunning and the a la carte dinner at the Seehaus superb.
