We had a wonderful time in this very nice and ccomfortable apartment. Landlady - Ms. Heike Wannemacher was very nice, communicative and with positive energy:)! This apartment is located few kilometers from Ga-Pa so, for skiing you have to use a car, but on the other hand it is quiet place with beautiful surroundings. Big advantage is italian restaurant at the first floor. Once, when the restaurant was fully ocupied, Chef brought order to our apartment!!! Free public parking was in front of the building.

Magnificent old building in the cobbled heart of the old town. My room had a large wooden dual-aspect balcony with sensational views of the surrounding mountains. Guy on reception (sorry, I know he was Serbian but could not pronounce his name - I'm just an ignorant tourist!) could not have been more friendly or helpful. Reception and adjoining rooms are like something out of a Bavarian castle, breakfast was a spread of wonderful treats and my room and bathroom could not have been more comfortable. Nice outdoor seating by the (natural) pool. What a wonderful hotel.

Farchant is a great stay if you want to be out of the busyness of Garmisch-Partenkirchen but not too far away to be a moment away. Great local food and welcoming people, have been coming here for years and plan to return.
The atlas hotel has a great restaurant with lots of choice and it’s easy to get to with the train station from Munich or Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Farchant is a gorgeous little village, really pleasant to walk around, with stunning scenery. Loads of local small businesses, pleasant square in front of the town hall, fantastic public transport to Garmisch , Oberammergau and Munich. The restaurant’s were also good. The Italian in the middle was a great price and really bust, we were lucky to get in as most tables were reserved. Bank has a cash point, there’s bakery (open early morning), pharmacy, ice cream parlour, shop, and various places to eat.
One thing you must know - there are NO shops open on Sundays. There are vending machines in different places to buy local products such as milk, eggs, meat and cheese, but if you’re arriving late Saturday, or Sunday, bring some food with you.
We ran out of time to try the pool and the local mountain walks, but the churches are lovely, the local historic walk is nice and it is so so quiet. A real rural idle but with great connections!
The local tourist card is also really useful, we more than got our moneys worth just using the buses!

My goal was to hike the Reichtal trail to the Zugspitze.
My goal was to hike the Reichtal trail to the Zugspitze. The starting point is not very well documented so I ended up missing the start time and hike other routes. There are wonderful routes to hike, but not quite the same.

Great little town and in a great location for local activities. We were near everything we wanted to do over the weekend. It was a quick drive to Eibsee, Partnachklamm Gorge, Ettal Abbey and the Alpine coaster. Wonderful restaurants in town also!
It was a great experience staying at the hotel. My parents, girlfriend and I had originally booked for two nights and were very happy when we were able to extend for an extra night. We were very impressed with our rooms and bathroom, the breakfast was fantastic and the hosts made our stay all the more pleasant and enjoyable! They were very welcoming throughout and greeted us with cake upon our arrival. We are looking forward to visiting again in the future.
The apartment is very nice and clean with everything needed for the comfortable stay. A terrace overlooking the mountains makes it very cozy. The pizza restaurant nextdoor is also a nice bonus, delicious food can be ordered directly to the apartment and it is delivered very quickly. Farchant is a charming town very close to wonderful hiking trails. We would certainly recommend this place for the stay.
Located in the lovely town of Farchant, this little B&B offers access to some great hiking trails and Garmisch (which is less than 10 minutes away). The room felt authentic to the region, the price was decent, and overall the stay was comfortable. Parking was easy, breakfast was good enough for light breakfast eaters like my partner and me, and the neighborhood was lovely and safe.
The purpose of our stay at the hotel was simply to spend night. However thanks to cosy atmosphere and hospitality of the staff we were happy to spend there more time than we've planned. Additionally we would like to thank for amazing food and service at the hotel's Italian restaurant 'Da Giovanni' (strongly recommend to visit). Summing up, You've made our short trip even better!
The hotel is newly opened few months back and its in very good condition. very accessible, super clean, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. the location is very good for those who want to stay a bit a way from the centre of the city, though very accessible and there is a metro nearby. i liked staying in Explorer and i would love to come again.
A modern hotel with rooms big enough for two people.
I was at the hotel for 4 nights and can say that the cleaning service is satisfactory, towels are changed on time.
Breakfast is good enough.
It is a good location, there is enough parking next to the hotel 1 euro per night.
In conclusion, a perfect hotel
The hotel was very clean and cozy. Spacious, well designed and modern furnished room. The service staff was very friendly and helping with every wish or request. Delicious breakfast before the skiing and great variety of saunas after the skiing. I had a great time and I will be glad to come again :)
We really enjoyed our stay at this guest house in Farchant. The room was spotless and spacious with a large balcony. We were greeted each evening with slices of delicious cake and the breakfast was plentiful - with great coffee. I highly recommend!
Beautiful area of Garmisch. Visited Garmisch hundred times, never visited Farchant. Quiet neighborhood. Cows walked along road in front of the hotel every morning at 0700 with their bells jingling away; we loved it!
The staff was friendly and helpful! The breakfast is very tasty. There is also a sauna! The hotel is in a quiet location. There is also free parking in front of the hotel. It was a very nice experience.
The actual apartment itself is very nice. As shown in the pictures - and the view really is amazing! Farchant is also such a cute little town that is very central to all the surrounding areas. Very nice.
Everything perfect! We really loved the hotel and all the warmth of the hosts, a perfect breakfast and there I ate the best pie of my entire life. I will definitely stay again.
Beautiful place, Beautiful views. Hotel had everything we needed for a family. Big beds, lovely shower, big kitchen and balcony with beautiful view on the Mountains.
