Very large room with balcony view of the mountains. Very friendly owners who went the extra mile to help us with parking, public transport to Lugano (so easy and quick - why stay in Lugano?). Excellent breakfast.

Enviable location, 2 minutes from the Central station with immediate access via funicular. The vicinity has abundance of restaurants and shopping, so great for tourists. The breakfast was adequate.

Great Great Great Location. Was very fortunate, getting a room overlooking Lake Lugano. The Staff was extremely wonderful. I think his name was Gabo. Helpful, at every turn. A glass of wine while sitting at the patio, overlooking Lake Lugano was amazing.
Need to remember, the building is over a hundred years old, so it's not your typical Hotel. But the experience of staying here, will last you forever. A good 6 to 7 minute drive to Lugano main street and waterfront. A picturesque drive for the memories bank.
Melide is nice location, hotel has friendly staff, very good breakfast, each guest receive Ticino ticket for travelling by bus and trains in Ticino region and for some discounts, hotel has a sun terrace with access to the lake, at the end of September the temperature of the lake is still good for swimming. Our room was simple furnished with older furniture, but everything was clean, beds were comfortable, we would choose this hotel again.

Swissminiatur Park and Train station are in 8-10 min by walking.
Short walk from the train station. the bus out front going in the opposite direction loops around to the San Sebastian funicular and the big city of Lugano nearby or directly back to the train station. Great breakfast. Fantastic View. Comes with the Ticino pass which gives you discounts and free public transportation in the area. Nice restaurant down the Street open till 10:00. Had a fan in the room
I loved the family atmosphere this hotel provides. The rooms were nicely decorated. The staff was remarkably helpful. I asked for help with a doctor appointment for my wife and they were very cooperative and called and made the appointment. I very much appreciate their support throughout my stay. special thanks to Julian for going out of his way to help out.
nice location steps from the lake. very cool property that used to be a cellar and has been converted into an apartment. unique design and layout. very clean. stays cool in summer because the building sits right at the base of the mountain. the owners are incredibly nice and helpful. I would stay here again.
Apartment had a stunning lake view. Location is perfect in beautiful and quiet Melide (lovely town with great beach, close to popular places like e.g. Lugano, Morcote, outlet Fox Town and also very close to Italy). Spacious, very well equipped apartment, parking right in front of the building.
The room had a fabulous view of the lake and the surrounding mountains and just about 2 or 3 mins away from the lake promenade. If arriving by train there's a direct bus to the hotel. The hotel provides only breakfast but there's a pizzeria and two other restaurants a few metres away.
Received an upgrade to a Lakeview suite with a balcony. Although it was winter time the view was wonderful to wake up to in the morning. Staff is exceptionally friendly, I have been guest at the Diamond hotel for decades but would gladly stay here for a few days instead.
The breakfast included in the stay was really good and sitting on the lake was very peaceful. The location of the hotel and the room was spectacular as was the view.
