Take the cable cart to the top of the hill - St.
Take the cable cart to the top of the hill - St. Salvatore and if you have good weather - there awaits you and this is not an exaggeration by any means - one of the most amazing views I have ever seen in my life.
Also we took a boat ride along the lake, which without any discount is about 40CHF for 2 hours ride, which is also very nice. There is a half tax discount if you have it for Switzerland. Miniature museum is nice as well.
Lugano over all I think will stay in my heart :)

2 nights would have been sufficient for us. We took a day trip to Bellinzona and visited most of the popular attractions and had time to spare.
We are not shoppers or people who like to hang out next to a pool and relax. If you are that type of person, the lake is beautiful and the shopping
options are abundant.

Lugano is beautiful! Walking by the lake, sitting by it in chairs provided for free to the public, taking a boat ride, riding the funicular up to the mountain to see the views, all great! City bus transportation excellent.
I had an amazing room with a wonderful view over Lake Lugano. It could not have been more perfect. The hotel was very clean, the air-conditioning was perfect, on the very hot nights that I was there, but the room also had a lovely balcony with a nice cool breeze. The view was beyond superb. The front desk and breakfast staff were excellent, and the breakfast was one of the best I have ever had at a hotel, a wonderful variety to please every nationality of visitor. The hotel was wonderfully decorated. It was truly an excellent experience.
It's a little old hotel, your expectations should be in proportion to this statement. Yet, it's spotless clean, in a perfect position for visiting Lugano, quiet and comfortable: comfi and large bed even in a single room, good matrass (mid-soft).
It's old style, and not for you if you are an IG traveller. If you on the other hand are a conscious traveller, please support this kind of establisments! They are slowly disappearring and that's not good for the business.
The staff was really nice, the location of the hotel was perfect, the price was reasonable and the room & facilities were very clean. I recommend the Hotel San Carlo to anyone who comes to Lugano and does not wish to spend all of their money staying in a fancy hotel, but rather on sightseeing and discovering this beautiful little “big” city and its surroundings which are filled with so much life that you just might want to never leave….
We reach hotel about 10am, the staff was very friendly and good they try to let us early check in after we had 16h long flight to Lugano. And the breakfast is good have many choices. Great location just beside the station. Definitely will book again if I go travel again. I will know this hotel because is recommended by my parents they also stay here on last year and recommend us.
Very nice hotel with beautiful scenery of Lugano lake and mountain. Nearby city's center and a lovely small square just in front of the hotel. Lots of luxury brand shops on the Nassa street. Big balcony, a cup of wine on chair to see the lake and mountain. Museum LAC and MASK just few minutes to access by walk. All staffs kind and supportive. Breakfast quite comfortable.

Good breakfast and staff was nice and ready to fulfill our requests.deapite my negative notes we had a good stay and Lugano is very pretty, clean and deserve visiting (but be prepared for everything to be overpriced!!). The hotel is a good choice for a short stay to visit the downtown area and close to the city park as well.
The room was extremely clean and relatively inexpensive for Switzerland. The hotel was convenient to the train station, and right next to the lower station of the funicular. The desk manager was very helpful. The included breakfast was good, including hard boiled eggs, croissants, toast, jam, cereal, whole milk, juices, coffee, tea and yogurt.
The apartment was so clean. I’ve been to a couple of apartments in Switzerland and this is without doubt the cleanest I’ve been to. It has everything you need. There is nothing missing from the kitchen. Easy check-in. The apartment is a 20 min walk from Lugano Centro. Ana was so kind and such a nice host. Thank you so much!

Hotel was very close to the city center, it was clean, and the staff were very pleasant!! Lugano was amazing and it was made better by having a nice, clean, and honestly very spacious room especially for a solo traveller. Even has an elevator, and views on the north side of the hotel are fantastic!!
If you visit lugano by car this is a good hotel as the hotel has a car park and in lugano it is a problem to find a parking.The hotel is a bit far from the city centre but with the bus just in front of the hotel it is reached easily.You can walk all the way of coarse but it is quite a long walk
The hotel is a beautiful piece of property nestled directly across from the lake front. The staff is very accommodating, the breakfast was delicious and the drinks are the bar were perfectly made. I had an amazing stay here and if I find myself in Lugano again I will be sure to stay here.
Right beside the train station and a free funicular ride to the town. This is a magnicent old hotel with cheaper room accommodation in an annexe. It was clean comfortable and a reasonable price for Lugano. There is a beautiful outdoor pool but sadly the weather was against us.
The location is amazing, right in front on Lugano’s lake and at the start of a fashionable street with well-known brands. The hotel has a pool and a good restaurant, there is car parking however it is a bit small. Perfect stay if you want to spend a couple nights in Lugano.
