Its location both pretty close to the autostrada for travelling and right in Piazza Grande for walking in the town and also a path behind leading il ponte vecchio and the hill with vineyards behind. Staff were excellent and dinner was very good. Can also hire bikes, always a good thing.

We were treated with great warmth and care in the Locanda Marco. Personal yet discrete service, comfy cool room with great pillows, wonderful food and wine recommendations and a very special breakfast room and poached egg! Loved the outdoor seating for the evening meal and feel so grateful for having been made to feel so special and welcomed. We’ll be back and we highly recommend!

Perfect location, beautiful apartment. Mattress a bit too stiff but comfortable pillows. Amazing shower. We would have appreciated the addition of basic cooking items like salt and oil in the kitchen, but there were all the utensils we needed.

Bellinzona was so charming and a nice size, not too big or small. Lots of choices of restaurants, easy train and bus connections to the area. The castles are very scenic and interesting. We took a walking tour from the tourist information center, which was wonderful. We like less American tourist places and this fit the bill. The weekly market on Saturday morning was great too.

Bellinzona is the quiet enjoyable city of the canton of Ticino. It is a lovely little town (in fact the capital of Ticino) but it is away from the touristic towns such as Lugano, Locarno and Ascona (and therefore the prices) but close enough to travel to be able to spend time in those places as well, yet to return to base in the evening.

Walking to the castle’s was great.
Walking to the castle’s was great. I also did the train in another occasion. Shopping especially on Saturday at the market is great. Unfortunately when I returned after 3 weeks everything was closed on Sunday and Monday (a catholic holiday!)
I liked Federale Croce for their great pizza’s and friendly staff

Bellinzona is located very centrally in Ticino in terms of public transport connaction to other places. We stayed there for 4 days in order to check different places in the region. But I would recommend to go for at least 5 days. Bellinzona itself is worth spending one day just walking through all the three castles. And then there are a lot of magnificent places around like Lugano and the mountains around, Verzasca, Ascona, Locarno etc.. Also there is a Tibetan bridge in Bellinzona which you have to make a small hike for and it's really worth it!

Niche Place in Ticino in my opinion.
Niche Place in Ticino in my opinion. Top cuisine restaurants everywhere. There is no gap between city-like and natural atmospheres its a wonderful mix. You have everything around you, doesnt matter if you prefer bars or mountainwalks. It Is very Dog friendly. It was a spectacular stay for us.
Everything was perfect.
The hotel is in front of the train station, and next few Bus stops. I could see one of the Castle from my window.
I had a full breakfast for CHF 8 the staff was very friendly and helpful.
the only downside was the Wi-Fi kept dropping off, I told management before I left and they offered me breakfast for the inconvenience. If you are going to stay in Bellinzona I recommend the International
This is an incredibly located flat with a very helpful, friendly and responsive host. I'd happily pick it again over any hotel - it's great to feel like you're living at the heart of the old town for a night.

The whole hostel was very clean. It was good value for money in Switzerland. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location was diagonally across the road from the railway station. All in all an excellent set of circumstances for us.
